In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

help with heating thanks

i have a very larg cage that is split in two so my male and female jackson have there own side i have 8inch heating lamps with a 100 watt bulb on a thermostat and its not hot enough of the side of the cage there is 2 lamps 1 for each side but its to cold on the side of the cage for both sides so is there any way to heat that up with out using anouther basking bulb?

You could use a ceramic heat emitter - BUT, what temps do you presently have? Jackson's need cooler temps than a veiled or Panther, and being in CA, I can't imagine that the ambient temps are too cold to begin with. Get a temp. measurement within the basking spot, and then in a couple other locations in the cage. Then compare them with recommended temps for a Jackon's (not quite sure of them off the top of my head - but check out chameleonsonline.com or adcham.com.

its 82 in the basking and like 75 in the other parts and at the lower parts of the bottum it gets into hjigh 60's

I think those temps are just fine for a Jackson's
Recommended (per AdCham) is:
Basking 80-85
Ambient 70s
Nighttime drop of at least 10 degrees, can handle as low as in the 40s as long as daytime temps get into the 70s

So, I think your temps are good. You have a couple different temp zones, which will allow them to thermoregulate.

PS - did you find a home for your Nose Be?

Sam, those temps sound very good.

They do have a summer threw winter cycle of different temps in the wild so in the summer your temps may get higher to be 85 basking and a little higher in the coolest area.

yeah i just made it like 84-86 in the highest and the bottum is now like 65-70 at the highest so i think its good i mean my cage is 4 feet tall so i cant expect the bottum to be perfect you know but he seems to like it he go's from the top to the middle most of the time if i just left it the same at night wouldent he just chill in the middle not the top or is it a must to drop the temps at night?

Jax prefer being up high too, so its unlikely that they will spend much time near the bottom of the cage. Mine go to the bottom when I put the crickets in but are in the top areas most of the rest of the time.

I cut off my heat source at night so the entire cage drops down to low 70's.

Think of how it would be outside in the areas they come from and try to duplicate that as clsoe as possible, warm day and cooler at night.
