Last year I rescued a Burmese python that was loaded with mites. I got rid of them by scrubbing the cage with soapy water several times. I dried it shop vacuumed in between each wash. I put mineral oil all over the snake including on her face and let her hang out in a covered tub while I was washing the cage. I did this every other day for a week. The mites have never returned. Keep in mind that everything in that cage had to be removed and I used simple paper substrate during the entire process. Worked for me.
