    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    Addendum: 01/10/2026
    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

:uzi: I just ordered a Veiled Chameleon from "Reptile Depot." I also ordered a Reptarium 38 from www.reptiledirect.com with a bunch of supplies for the cham. I just want to make sure that this is adequate because I am a first time Veiled owner and most of the time I had geckos and chelonians. Tell me what you guys think:)

well the 38 may be a little to large for the chameleon at first, and it will be to small for an adult. so keep that in mind. it may be a to big of a habitat for the chameleon to chase around food. any other questions let me know.

well, i am a chameleon collector and i want to say, congrats on getting your chameleon, and i have baby veiled chameleons that i have ordered off the internet and i usually put aleast 2/3 in one 10 gallon tank 2gether (2 many just cause a fight). second, when he/she get bigger 2 when u can tell the sex of the chameleon (the males have bigger veileds/crests on their heads, females r smaller), that is when you put him in that tank. i no from experience with 4 adult parsons(3' ea.) 8 panthers (2'4-8'' ea.), 18 veileds, carpet chameleons, and over 200 brookisea. 2 u it might seem like alot, 2 someone like me, i'm still looking 4 more, i'm only 14 but i get loads of help from my family, every month, i go 2 different states, i've been 2 every state in the us, and europe talking about chams. if you have any farther ?'s on your chameleon, email me at [email protected]. and the same 4 any body else who needs help with their chameleons, and don't no what 2 do. FEEL FREE, I LOVE HELPING PEOPLE WHO NEED IT, I'D RATHER HELP THAN HAVE PEOPLE SUFFER.

"the males have bigger veileds/crests on their heads, females r smaller"

woah dude for such an extensive collection you seriously seem to lack even the most basic of knowledge, you sure its not your families collection and you concider it your own?

anyway you can sex veileds at birth, look for a tarsal spur its on the back of the hind foot, its basically a litttle nub. if there is a tarsal spur youve got a male, no tarsal spur female. on and by the way the crest/veil is called a casque

gaining cumulative knowledge its much more helpful than relying on the word of one person, even me who is so uber learned. what i mean is you should check out as many resources online as possible. the more common a statement the more likley it is to be truth. people like this kid are full of falsified information and myths.

check out chameleonsdish.com chameleonjournals.com adcham.com chameleoninfo.com there are other good sites that all i pulled off the top of my head. do some searches and check out the caresheets on breeders sites, i think chameleonsdish.com has a good beginners checklist. peace and good luck
