In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Hi,
I got an Leo from the Sacramento Show.He is very skinny.
number 1)The called him an normal leo, what is that?
number 2)he is really skinny, what shall I do about that?
and number 3)I dont know how old he is,is there some methed you can use?
Thanks! :bawling:

1. It means he's got spots and looks like the typical wild leopard gecko.
2. Let him eat as much as he wants, and if he doesn't eat within the first week, I'd be worried. Let us know if he eats or not.
3. I'd need to see a picture to guestimate age. Is he full grown (ie. the length of your hand) or a subadult (half the length of your hand)?

I hate to say this, but if he was this skinny at the show, why did you buy him? For one, the seller shouldn't have had a very skinny animal on display. However, if the gecko is young, then chances are the growth is focused more on length than on girth right now. Still, a picture speaks a thousand words and it's hard to give advice without one. Any chance you could show us a pic?

Hi, I am local and breed leos I work in menlo park, if he doesnt eat in a few days let me know and I can help you with him if needed.

I was a vendor at the Sacramento Show, and the only very skinny geckos I saw were from the big reptile supply vendors at ridiculously low prices. These guys are NOT breeders, and it breaks my heart when they sell sick geckos. Assuming you are doing everything correctly, such as proper temperatures, I would contact the supplier for advise or a full refund.

My advise to you is to get a stool sample to a veterinarian ASAP. If you need help getting something into the geckos tummy in order for it to produce a stool, then contact me for a recipe or get some baby food squash and using a dropper, put some on the end of the geckos nose until it begins licking it. Gently squeeze out a little at a time as it laps.

If you need assistance in finding a qualified reptile veterinarian, I have links to lists of herp vets on the INFORMATION page of my website.

Good luck!

Oh, if you need a fecal test let me know I have a friend who can do them who is also a leo breeder. She would be able to work a real decent price for the test.

Ok thanks.Well I thought he wasnt that skinny till I got him home and for all the resherch I did I ended up getting a horrible gecko.Thank you all and fell free to email me ay [email protected] my dad works at menlow park lol

Hopefully you can rehabilitate the gecko. Hey I've seen some pretty sad looking animals turn into fat healthy pets with some TLC and vet help. Good luck. :)
