It seems like some of the time, not always, sometimes, tangerines tend to fade into either a more yellowish or brownish color after their first breeding season. I have had some geckos that were awesome, torch orange as juveniles and subadults but turned into brown colored just so so looking adults. On the other hand, I have had average looking juveniles turn into kick ass adults as well. I do notice when my males are housed a lone for an extended period of time they tend to brighten up significantly, that goes for all morphs.
