In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Has anyone ordered from Herp Enclosures in the last month or so ? My order hasn't arrived and they are not answering e-mails - the order is only for 5 tub dividers so i really didn't do much investigating before my purchase. The info i have seen so far on them leads me to believe i will not have much luck with them -- Brian O'Neill

Were you given a time frame for your order? If so, how far beyond the anticipated delivery date are you? What was their response to your inquiries?

Brian,

I ordered 12 tub dividers from Richard @ Herp Enclosures last spring. After two months of waiting, numerous excuses, contradictory statements and untruths, I filed a dispute with my CC company to get the funds credited back to my account.

I hope everything works out with your situation.

BAD, IF ANY SERVICE

Welcome to the club, I paid for cages at Daytona last year and never got them. My credit card company finally got the money back in December. Do not buy from Precision Caging either, as Lovell does the same thing. Still trying to get my money back on those. I have learned that if you want good cages at the right price....make your own.

when i placed my order over the internet i received an automated confirmation , i have sent several emails with no response ; as far as a delivery date non was given.--Brian O'Neill

spelling error " none " not "non" -sorry everyone--Brian O'Neill

I paid $700 for some racks last June and have only received one hatchling rack. I've been told that their router is messed up, but at this point I don't know what to think. Every time I talk to Rich he says they'll ship next week, but it never happens. I payed with paypal. I guess I'll try contacting paypal and see if they can do anything.

If you want the balance of your funds returned (for the unshipped racks), have you asked for it? That is the logical first step before going through paypal...and besides, you are well past the PayPal timeline:
13.3 Filing Deadlines. We will not grant any Claim unless you first initiate a Dispute in our Resolution Center within 45 Days of the date of the relevant payment and then escalate the Dispute into a Claim within 20 Days of the date you file your Dispute. It is your responsibility to keep track of the deadlines under this section.
Contact him by email (preferably with a followup phone call, to ensure that it was received/read); and if you don't get a prompt refund, file a claim with your credit card company.

Yeah I just read the paypal policy too. I sent them a message anyway. I've sent numerous emails to Rich asking for a refund and he doesn't reply. So then I call him and every time he says they just fixed the router and my racks will ship next week. I wasn't aware that the credit card company could do anything since the payment went through paypal. If they can do something, it looks like that's what it will probably come to.

Herpenclosures delivered my dividers ! The dividers are fantastic quality and were given to me free of charge for the problems in communication we had. - Brian O'Neill

As per my previous post I ordered and paid for cages/racks at Daytona. I have received nothing. I have spoken to Rich numerous times and get promises but absolutely no shipment. If he is allowed to vend at Daytona next year I will personally be there picketing his booth. Mark Hauge

Rich just returned my call from earlier and he explained what's been going on. Their router is in fact back on line, but now the computer has been totally buggered for 2 months. Apparently it's some sort of insidious virus. The entire customer database is wiped, 1 in 50 emails makes it through, and they're not getting internet orders either.

So my racks have been sitting there for a month but they didn't know where to ship them. Had I called them in January I likely would have already had them by now. I feel stupid for not following up on that sooner, but I figured they might be further delayed over the holidays, and I've been up to my ears in feeder mice lately, leaving little time to think of much else.

Sooooo...... I'm expecting my racks to be shipped next week, and Rich is kindly throwing in a few extra ones. As I mentioned a few posts up on the previous page, I've been waiting since the middle of last year. That is why I was upset to the point that I finally posted on here and said that I would not do business with him again.

Now that I have talked to Rich and I know what's going on, I'd like to say that he's been a really great guy every time we've spoken, and his racks are the best I've owned. I truly believe that they've had a tremendous spell of bad luck in the last 9 months, both with the CNC router and now the computer. Assuming that my racks do arrive soon, I'll continue to be a Herp Enclosures customer. I will make sure to talk to Rich in person next time I order though. I would want to make sure there are no further problems, considering that I have waited a long time on this order.

herp enclosures

I have gottin 4 racks from rich and never had any trouble , i did talk to him on march 7 2008 to get one more thair having trouble with E-mail , but no matter what ill allways buy my racks from him !!

You are one of the lucky ones. I still have nothing. I am now going through VISA to try to get a refund. I also spoke with him this week. All the same excuses that I have heard repeatedly. Current one is that all the racks are made and sitting there, but Sterlite has stopped making the trays. I paid in full at Daytona (August). This is March. Mark

Some of you are lucky. I know people that are still waiting for their shelves to complete DOZENS of racks that were PAID for over a year and a half ago. In that case, he insisted they pay with a money order so he can't dispute the charge with a CC. He's good at avoiding phone calls, not returning emals, and coming up with excuses after excuses.

I'd personally get out of herps before ordering a rack from herpenclosures.com!
KJ

Well, in answer to this thread as well I have 8 racks from Rich totalling about $3500 and have had no issues with delivery or communication. Sorry for the bad luck others have had, but I for one will continue to buy from Rich because he is a good guy IMO.

Ed Clark is a distributor for them and a member here. Maybe he can help out getting these issues resolved.
