    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

i bought 4 cages from doug barr a month ago and they are some of the best cages i have ever had. they dont have a key lock so not for HOTS, but for ball pythons to rat snakes they are great. they normaly have cages in stock and they do custom stuff also. and boy do they get the cages to you fast, i ordered on monday and i got them on friday. prices start at like 50 bucks so check them out at herpcages.com.

Agreed. I have about 18 of them. They are awesome cages and for an additional few bucks, you can order them with locks on them. One of my good friends has three of them for hots...two for juvie Rattlers and one houses a Copperhead. Another friend of mine houses an Eyelash Viper in one.
 
I have a couple Barrs cages which work great for my purposes. I had them put key locks in mine so they can be modified for venomous snakes. Heres a photo of my female Atheris hanging out in her Barrs cage.

I have a few BARRS cages and I love them. They're well-made and well-shipped. No problems and they all arrived in perfect condition. I will definitely buy more when the need arises.

We use a group of Barr's cages for Crested Geckos, Corn Snakes, Tarantulas, Western Hognose, small Milksnakes, and a few other geckos.

Best prefab cages we have used. We're very pleased with them, and WILL purchase more.

Great customer support as well.
 
I wanted to bump this thread up and add another GOOD GUY rating for BARRS aka herpcages.com.

Over the last 10 years I've purchased about 12 cages from them, just ordered another 2 and they already sent me tracking info even though I told Doug it wasn't a rush. New cages will be here before xmas, Happy Holidays to me indeed.

Always great customer service, very reasonable shipping rates and fantastic cages! Thanks again BARRS!
 
In this day and age where it appears to be the norm for cage manufacturers to expect us to wait months after paying for a cage before we receive it, or to assume that we will be willing to chase them for days in order to get a return call, Doug is a refreshing exception.

Doug returns calls and he returns e-mails - promptly He will spend whatever time is required to make sure that your custom order is correct and his turn around time is second to none.

He has always treated me like he values my business, regardless of the size of the order. Barr's should be at the top of any cage or rack shoppers list.
 
Their cages are great. I used their cages for my Rhacodactylus for years, and still have two of their show displays that I use sometimes. Recently I really wanted some of their bearded dragon racks and exchanged a couple of emails with them but then could not get any more responses to my emails. It would have been quite a large order too, and I found it odd that they stopped responding to my emails. I've decided to build my own dragon racks now (it will save tons of $$$$!) so I guess in the end it worked out better for me that they blew me off. :)
 
I know Doug was out of town for a little while and just got back a couple days ago? I am not sure on the timeline of your communication. That's a shame
