    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Hi everyone- Here's the deal. Before calling, I ran Raymond Goushaw through the search here and found no bad comments, etc. I sent the money to him for 5 sheltopusik's (on 4/18) after he told me they would be "here" on Mon., so that he could ship them overnight via UPS. Never heard from him and on 4/21 I sent an email, asking if they were sent out. I received a reply the next day on 4/22 that said the lizards would be "here" (at his place) on Thurs or Fri. and stated that he had not received payment from Paypal. I sent him a copy of my payment from Paypal. I then asked if he could make sure and send the animals on a Mon. via UPS. He never replied. I have since sent 6 emails and left 2 voicemails, asking if he has received the legless lizards. The 1st day I called, his voicemail was full and the next day, when I was able to leave a message it was no longer full. So I know he received my voicemail from the day before...So yesterday AND today, I left a voicemail and 2 emails, stating that if the legless lizards were not in, then I would like the pair of mexican black kingsnakes we talked about OR I wanted a refund.

My question is, is this place or is this guy a"good guy gone bad," or am I simply being overly impatient?

The odds are pretty good he will eventually come through for you but you will be left hanging for a while if he does not have your animals in hand.
Back in 04 I ordered 3 snakes from him he sent two with a note the third had escaped in his store and he would send it along, him paying the shipping, when he caught it. I emailed him weekly for a month asking about it but got no replies. At about 5 weeks I filed a protest with paypal who told me they could do nothing but urge him to contact me, which he did finally.
To make a long story short he eventually managed to aquire a third snake and did send it to me on his dime but the communication stunk. I will always wonder if I would have ever heard from him had I not contacted pay pal but he did follow through with his end of the deal.
As for posts about him here is one you may have missed. If I remember the thread he does come through in the end with an offer but.... Well you judge.

I did receive a phone call

He called me yesterday and stated that he was out of town and had been having trouble with his phone. He also stated that he was sorry about the import shipment not coming in and that he was willing to send the lizards, the black kingsnakes, or a refund. I called back and got voicemail again. I left him a message that if on Mon., he was unable to ship the sheltopusik's, then I would just prefer to have the 1.1 mex black kingsnakes. If he does not ship any animals on Mon. (5/5), then I will ask for a refund with no further back and forth business.

I'm just really upset over this lack of communication. It wasn't until after I made my order with him, that I read the posts on here about the lack of comm., and the long time in receiving animals! He seems like a great guy and all, I just want my animals! :rolleyes:
 
I hate bad communication. Just letting everyone know, its an immediate turn-off from someone's business and a clear signal to take my money elsewhere.
 
Here's the latest..

It's amazing how fast Ray gets back to you, when you're calling about wanting to purchase an animal, or wanting a refund (same day service--within a few hours). But if you're calling and asking for your animals that have already been paid for, to be shipped, you're ignored....

So I have sent several emails, stating what I want done in regards to this long drawn out, tortuous, ridiculous transaction.......This is finally the reply I received this morning, which also includes my reply.....Mind you, LAST Mon. (4/28), I said I wanted my animals shipped or a refund...He got back w/me and gave me the reasons why he couldn't (which isn't my place to tell), so I explicitly said I would wait until THIS Mon., and then I get ANOTHER excuse and brushoff...

RAY!! Just give me my money back!!!! Dang-It's only aprox $230, but it's the principle of the matter, ya know?? I am offended that apparently, you'll take my money, but not give me the respect and time needed to treat me like a valued customer.




(Sent today at 11:00 AM my time-I also sent an email over the weekend, stating the same thing)...

If my animals are not shipped today, I would like a refund.

If my animals are not being shipped TODAY, I want a refund TODAY. There is no reason why I should wait from the 18th of Apr, for animals that were supposed to be in and shipped within a couple of days...
No matter whether or not the imports were delayed, etc., the animals I was willing to substitute for were available (1.1 black kingsnakes as stated by Ray) and could have been shipped immediately. I need a refund TODAY. I have been very patient and I think it's time for me to be treated as a valued paying customer.

I know the last time there was a negative post on him a number of people came out in his defense but it sure is starting to look like he did not deserve their support.

No, I have not. I didn't think it would matter to him, as I did inform him in a previous email, that I had checked him out here on the BOI, before buying from him and he ignored that as well.

Absolutely none! He continues to ignore my emails. I have given up calling and leaving voicemails! I thought I was making a good decision in going with him. I'm out $230. I know that isn't a lot, compared to what others have lost, but it still makes me angry that he would treat a paying customer this way.....Even if he comes back and makes excuses (like he did in the other posts and problems w/others) there is just no excuse for this!!

Also, I think I should state that I am not yet accusing him of stealing my money (i.e., being a thief)...I just think his customer service is absolutely terrible and from the other posts I've read it seems as if he will get my money back to me...someday.........................I will keep everyone updated as to when/if he makes this right.....

Unfortunately, I came here and did a search on him before making the decision to do business w/him and didn't find anything...AFTER I sent my money, I found the post about taking a long time for him to ship, etc....

He is continuing to ignore my emails, except one at the beginning of the week telling me that my animals would ship this Wed or Thurs (even though at least 12 emails sent, were asking for a refund AND guess what?? The animals still aren't here......)

At this point, yeah, I think he's a thief and stealing my money....
