Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them.     Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Feel free to contact any of the numerous well respected people in Florida that have known of him and have seen his facility.
Granted there is always the "Honor Among Thieves" credo many adhere to in this hobby so getting someone to drop a dime on Ole Ray might be kinda tuff.

Reptile retailers are a dime a dozen in that area,I wasn't informed until after I had already got snagged up with this clown.

What still surprises me is the limited public info on business's like Ray runs ?? :eek:

AAAAAHHHHH!!!

This man is driving me nuts with his games.....I have been sending almost daily emails to him, telling him I want a refund, which he ignores...Well, I guess in a stroke of genius he came up with the brilliant idea of telling me that a pair of kingsnakes were shipped to me last week (I think he meant last week--never mind the fact that I told him I didn't want any of his animals and that I wanted a refund...) so that he doesn't have to give me a refund.

The only saving grace he may have is a tracking #, confirming there was some sort of delivery to my house......BTW, I live in a very small town and all the overnight delivery guys KNOW me personally and are always interested in the animals we are getting, etc so I KNOW they didn't make a mistake...As a matter of fact, they usually hang around just to see what's in the box!!

If he's lying (gee, I wonder), he's really screwed himself into a corner, because he won't be able to prove there was a delivery...I think he's more interested in covering his butt legally, because I mentioned that I have family in FL and that would be the time when I could show up and take him to small claims court....To which I will add the charges of the travel, emotional distress, etc....OK, the emotional distress is a little overboard, but still...

Did you not get the shipment I sent you or my e-mails? I did as I said I was going to do. by the way the pet store chain and one of my exporters did what they did long before we had any problems with your order. Part of the reason I was unable to get the legless to you was the exporter that I purchase those from was the one who screwed me out of the order.(Then he needs to make it right...And BTW, it wasn't very long after I ordered, that I heard from Ray that he was going to court and that's why he didn't have the time to get my order out and that the shipment simply had not come in--If he already KNEW that this provider of animals was screwing him over and he couldn't get the animals, then why wouldn't he just refund my money or send me the snakes?? Also...How do you get a court date so fast, against the animal provider that was supposed to supply the legless lizards?) I am making every effort to correct the situation and I assure you you will loose nothing but, time in this matter. I will square up with you asap.(I'm confused...If he sent me a shipment of animals, isn't he already "squared up" w/me? I mean the cost of the legless lizards was less than what the pair of supposedly already shipped pair of kingsnakes would cost,....) Thanks for your patience (This is where I get just a little catty--WHAT patience??? I have none!!! This guy has screwed me so much, he already knows exactly how I like it.....) Please confirm that you did get the kingsnakes. I also sent you the larger pair at no extra cost.
 
Let me get this straight, you asked for legless lizards and you were sent a pair of kingsnakes instead?

Did you ask for those kingsnakes or are they just a "present" while you wait for your original order to show up?

(4/28), I said I wanted my animals shipped or a refund...He got back w/me and gave me the reasons why he couldn't (which isn't my place to tell), so I explicitly said I would wait until THIS Mon., and then I get ANOTHER excuse and brushoff...

RAY!! Just give me my money back!!!! Dang-It's only aprox $230, but it's the principle of the matter, ya know?? I am offended that apparently, you'll take my money, but not give me the respect and time needed to treat me like a valued customer.




(Sent today at 11:00 AM my time-I also sent an email over the weekend, stating the same thing)...

If my animals are not shipped today, I would like a refund.

If my animals are not being shipped TODAY, I want a refund TODAY. There is no reason why I should wait from the 18th of Apr, for animals that were supposed to be in and shipped within a couple of days...
No matter whether or not the imports were delayed, etc., the animals I was willing to substitute for were available (1.1 black kingsnakes as stated by Ray) and could have been shipped immediately. I need a refund TODAY. I have been very patient and I think it's time for me to be treated as a valued paying customer.

To be more clear--He informed me that yes, he already had the pair of black kingsnakes in stock and that he would send them, with the lizards....

At the very least, he could have sent the kingsnakes when it began to drag out about the lizards...

Is it possible there was a delivery to another house on my street? Maybe...We'll see if I get a tracking # and the delivery info....

I know, that if I had a customer that was constantly emailing and asking for their animals or a refund I would have either immediately given the refund, OR I would have made damn sure to ship carefully and inform them of the exact day the animals were sent and provided them a tracking #. IMMEDIATELY. I would further informed the customer to be waiting for the animals...Finally, I would have made sure the delivery was "signature only."

Absolutely Traci. He is probably waiting for a back order on those lizards to avoid paying for two shipments. One way or the other you made it clear that if he couldn't deliver in time you wanted a refund.

Yes, they do still have a site up....Actually, I just went to it and it is no longer up...It was www.herpetologicalbreedingresearch.com

That's how I came to ask him about the black kingsnakes...They were on there and he said that yes, he had them in stock....

I doubt he will re-open under a new name in a few months.
He's had that name, for what? about 10 years?
Ray has been an importer for many years, has all the contacts and I bet he makes good on Traci's deal.
However, I am NOT surprised he hasn't responded on the BOI.
