    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

It doesn't look like I'll being going anytime soon around here. We still have about 2 ft on the ground everywhere and more in the woods. This picture was taken this morning.

I am planning on going to Maryland in April. Does anyone know any good areas? I"ve tried there before but it is difficult to find areas that don't have manicured woods and no-trespassing signs. I was thinking of trying the DelMar Pennisular. Farm country suits me better.

I don't keep wild snakes, I am just a picture taker.

I don't think Maine has spring. Jumps right to summer around the 4th of July. A big ski area - Sugarloaf - usually closes the 1st wk of April. They are already planning on staying open to May 5. Longer if the snow holds out. Depressing.
 
Wow, I guess I'll stop complaining so much about spring in Iowa! At least spring is teasing us here....we get a couple of really nice days in the 40's, then it turns cold and snows a few inches again.....repeat, repeat, repeat. We're mostly mud now at least, lol.

May 5th, huh? That's beyond depressing!
 
A couple of us

went out Tues morning and found:
Texas Alligator Lizard, Many Green Anoles, a few Ground Skinks, and a few Texas Spiny Lizards. We were in Georgetown, TX about 10 minutes from my house.
The Texas Alligator Lizard has been sought after in Williamson County for quite awhile. This is the farthest north they have been recorded
 
Took a trip down to Southwest Oklahoma in the Wichita Mountain area last Thursday and found one collared lizard still hibernating under a rock. I was hoping to find a few rattlers but I guess it was a hair too early.

That's great Tim. Do you send that information anywhere? I used to send info on wood turtles to the Fish & Game but then they wanted gps coordinates etc. I got suspicious and stopped doing it. Probably on the up and up but I didn't want to suddenly see collectors show up at my favorite spots.

Actually, I am working with Harry Greene doing a Texas Alligator study. I also took GPS coordinates.
