Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Herps Etc Question

1/31/07- Update!

Well, it's almost been 4 months since my previous post and I still don't have my money back. Carson's most recent promise was that he would only give me a refund if I sent the snake back to him first, claiming that "any well-established business would have this type of policy in place."

So, I am asking for the advice of the fauna community: what should I do in this situation? I have told Carson on many occasions that if he did not give me a refund that I would pursue him to the best of my ability (paypal claim, internet fraud claim, NJ police, etc) and he seems sincere when he says that this won't be necessary. Yet, he won't use a third party and refuses to send the money first (which is understandable since he doesn't know me. That being said, I really am a completely honest person!)

I personally think that a third party would protect me and Carson and is the only realistic way for us to make an exchange. Are there any big breeders in New Jersey (where Carson lives) or perhaps a trustworthy, well-respected members of Fauna who would be willing to act as a third party? I would be willing to pay for your "services" just because I am willing to do anything to get my money back from Carson!

I would love to hear some advice from some of you more experienced members of the herp community! Of course I want my money back first and foremost, and Carson has promised me that this will happen if I send the snake first, but for obvious reasons I have trouble believing him.

Carson never once made an effort to live up to his so call guarentee. Sold me a sick animal, which he was notified of immediately. His only response was to cease all communications (phone and email). Guess there's not much you can do but right it off and make sure to notify everyone you do business with in the future.

And what the heck are you talking about??? What is "the best"?? Selling someone a sick animal and then ignoring them?

BS again, you never even feed them. You had to have my money to go p/u the animals from someone else. Obviously their left overs you passed off as grade A.
You were told from the begining they wouldn't eat & then you blew me off as I've read you've done to others.
 
Carson Phelps GOOD GUY!!!

For the past month and I've had nothing but GREAT SERVICE!! I bought an awesome pair of Chaco's from him that are doing great. I talk to him almost everyday and then he actually sent me 3 more pairs on consignment. I think is some pretty amazing trust since we've only talked for about a month. He has sent me a beautiful Lemon Pastel ball on consignment and an Albino Indo. water snake. We are talking about $2,300 worth of animals. So when I read all these threads about him I was quite astonished. He has done nothing but right by me. He has some amazing animals that NOBODY has...RARE STUFF!! In response to people that had animals that wouldn't eat who's to say your keeping the temps. properly or even housing the animals right. I can see to guarantee an animal for a week but after that it's hard to guarantee because you don't know how the animals are being treated. I believe he works hard to please his customers and make things right when necessary. I can see why he hasn't made right with some people because they give false information or they are only telling half the story. ALL IN ALL CARSON IS A GREAT GUY TO BUSINESS WITH AND I WON'T HESITATE TO KEEP DOING BUSINESS WTIH HIM IN THE FUTURE.
 
This message is for Emily Johnstone, A few post back you asked if there was any third parties that would be willing to do you guys a favor to resolve your issue with Carson. I do not know any details of Carson's transactions but I have met him a few shows. He tend to be at the Hamburg, PA show and there is one coming up on Feb. 24'th that I will be attending. If Carson is attending this show I will be more than happy to complete your deal with him. I would just like to see some of these deals get taken care of. I personally sell a lot of animals on line and threads like this makes it a little harder for all the good guys that sell on these sites. Like I said if both parties agree I will act as a middle man and I do not want anything more then a simple thank you for my services. Let me know Paul Wyble at Steel City Exotics
 
Carl, I have never had a bad deal with Carson, and would like to see him try to clear his name by settling up with these people here. but it very clear why you have given him such high praise! A $2300.00 INTEREST FREE LOAN TO BUY HIS REPTILES. I WOULD LOVE A GUY LIKE THAT ALSO.

I agree

If he does have some issues with certain people I know he'll make good on it. He is not out to get people or screw people over otherwise he wouldn't have sent me a lot of animals. He has some really great contacts with people in this industry so I know he has great animals.
 
Carl, I have been waiting over a year for him to make good ........This is the last email i got from him on 1/11/07 And i think the check got lost in the mail or something i dont think it takes 20 days to get here. And have not heard from him again.......................................................Carsons email.......i'll send it out monday or i have a 200 gram true blonde pastel female i can send today
if you want her then will call it even.

Just wanted to let everyone know that Carson did in fact refund my $2,000 for the ringer he sold me over a year ago. Paul Wyble of Steel City Exotics played an integral role in retrieving this money and to be perfectly honest, without Paul I'm not so sure if this transaction would have ever been completed (thanks again Paul!). That being said, eventually Carson did make things right and did give me back the entire $2,000 and for that I am grateful.

As an aside, thank you to everyone here at fauna who offered to help! It is great that something like the BOI exists because without it I would not have "met" Paul and would never have had the ability to get my money refunded.

Still never did anything to fix my problem. I'm out about $3700 on a snake that never feed. I doctor'd the other two to health. To prove it's not about the money, I'd be happy with a replacement adult Spider same as the other one I bought is now 1.5 years later. 1.5 years of lies so far, don't have much hope for Carson to step up & do what's right.
