    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Haha that's just not fair! I get excited over iguanas at the pet store and you can just drive down the road to see gators!!!!! Very nice!

It almost looks like one of the lookouts off Hwy 41 right past Everglades City :)

Actually, you're probably right. That water does look too clean to be something that's under those overpasses on 75. I don't go to Everglade city often so I assumed I took those on 75.

In everglade city is where I had the closest call with a gator. I'm sitting at a table outside of some gas station/general store...when I turn around and see a good sized gator not 15 feet from me. So, after screaming like a woman in labor :eek:, I took some pics. I'll try to find & post those.

Really neat pictures. I'm up here near Gainesville, and I swear *real* alligators fall from the sky. The little pond I have has 2-4 baby gators in it all the time. :p

I live in Naples and Its nice to be able to see gators often. I've traveled to near Everglades city to go fishing and had some close calls with a few of them. There used to be a place you could go where there were 20+ wild gators that stayed near a specific part of a canal. They recently built a deck for people to stand on to get to see them. Was always exciting to see them in the wild. I live near a lot of canals and they always have gators in them.

I do alot of off roading and field herping in Lee, Collier, and Charlotte counties. I catch a lot of rattlers, ratsnakes, gators, etc etc.

Picayune is fantastic for snakes and gators. my favorite spot to catch diamondbacks and pigmy rattlers.

I also do a TON of invasive species collections down in Naples. most recently I collected several Brown Basilisk adults, knight anoles, and some other smaller anoles.

yea im tryin to find some rattlers too so i guess ill try picayune...also wouldnt mind seein a coral in the wild..figure ill go right after a rain so maybe therell be a bunch of activity on the road...i also heard that people are finding pythons like crazy out there

on my trip to picayune tonight I caught a corn snake (male), male florida banded water snake, saw a barred owl, gators, and caught a squirrel at a gas station...
