    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

He's on death's door...just rescued him...I NEED HELP

Ok, I have never owned a uro and don't know a ton about them (I know some) but we just got a babe in from our pet supplier, and he is horrible looking. Skin and bones and totally unresponsive.

I have him in a 5 gallon tank with a 50 watt red bulb, and a under tank heater. He has a dish of water, and bird seed and fresh kale in the tank as well...right now he is on paper towel, he's also got a piece of slate. I have been feeding him chicken and rice baby food every hour, and have soaked him in warm water twice. Most of the time he is not moving at all in the tank...but when I take him out he lifts his head and opens his eyes and stirs a little bit.

This is not my uro, he is the petstore's, I brought him home with me so I can feed him and hydrate him all night. I do not want to be bashed, I am asking for help to save his life. We did not do this to him, we got him this way, and we figured that if we sent him back with the pet supplier he would just get ignored and die. There is a crap load of snow on the ground, and my nearest emergancy reptile vet is like a hour away. I understand the most important thing to do is get him to the vet, but it's not gonna happen tonight.

So far, you're doing everything right. Keep him warm, 100 to 110 degrees. Keep him hydrated and keep trying to feed him. Don't overdo the protein, they don't need much. If you can get him to take fresh greens, even if you have to chop them very fine, that'll help a lot.

Ok, I deffinately don't think it is hot enough in the tank, max I think it's 90 on the basking area...lemme go find a stronger bulb, and my thermo w/ probe

Too much heat for such a little tank

A 50 watt red bulb on a 5 gallon tank is definately going to be hot enough. You don't want to cook him. Also with a tank that little and that much heat you need to take the water out and just offer him some at intervals. Drip it with your finger on his nose. They can't have humidity and that is what your going to get. How little is he? If he is atleast 4 inches he needs to be in a 10 gallon so he atleast has a cooler side to go to. By the way, we breed Uro's so I know a little from experience if you want to PM.

the 50 watt red bulb was only getting it up to 92 now I got a 75 blue bulb and it's 105 (if it gets to got a will switch) he's about 8 inches long, I only brought a 5 gal home with me, so I'll just watch real good and make sure he doesn't over heat, I keep moving him from one side to the other, because he doesn't move by himself. He is totally unresponsive and doesn't pick up his head or open his mouth so I have been syringing him water w/ gatorade

He's up and moving!! Crawling around!! I've been giving him water w/ gatorade, I think it's helping!!!

Well he made it through the night, and now he is at a emergancy reptile vet....I hope he pulls through
