...I truly hope the buyer (which it rarely seems like these animals sell because they ALWAYS show back up on an almost daily basis month after month) does his homework...because although it may not be my business or place to bitch about it now, it WILL be when the person that got burnt decides to get out of BP's, or becomes reluctant to buy from smaller named breeders, or to pass on future internet purchases, or even worse...get out of the hobby...
Well said Troy.
What some people do by trying to sell normal looking snakes by something they are not, hurts everyone. It obviously hurts the buyer, but it also hurts the sales of honest herpers.
Ads are sometimes phrased with the intent to lure uninformed customers into thinking they are buying the "real deal". Ads that show a picture of a normal ball python labeled with a well knwon and proven morph and then a question mark try to accomplish that.
I'm sure you have all seen it. Example: Pastel? Mojave?...You tell me! They are not saying "pastelish-looking normal ball for $100". They try to fish for an unsuspected buyer. They don't usually put a price tag on this animal as well, they will "accept offers" or they "go for the highest bidder". The strategy is simple. They are putting the burden on the buyer. After all they never said it was something, they didn't even put a dollar value there either. But their intentions are obvious. Simple deception.
Thanks.
