    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

het platty daddy?

In addition to many of the pN (not sure what the official term for these is, at one time heard "hidden gene" and "platy sib") X pN breedings producing all normal looking animals that should have been 25% chance pp RDR did do at least one platy X platy breeding producing a normal looking female that should have been pp. Don't know if he has bred her by now, perhaps to a homozygous lesser to prove she produces 100% platy daddy as expected. He did a lot of work early with the hidden gene normal looking offspring of platy so should have a ton of those pN and even a few pp floating around which could well be responsible for at least some of the people who unexpectedly produced platy daddy breeding a lesser to what they thought was a normal.

BTW, this was the original "hidden gene" that was later used to describe one of the lines of woma which turns out has nothing to do with the platy project. So sorry for any confusion, I probably should have left that version of the name out of this discussion. Not sure if Ralph is still using "platy sib" either.

I believe he now refers to the pN as Het Plattys. Although using that name makes it hard to come up with a name for pp. I mean saying Super Het Platty kinda sounds silly. Maybe Super Platty? lol

I e-mailed Ralph a while back and he agreed with what I stated above on the punnet square and how he believes the gene works. He also acknowledged that he should have some pp on his hands from 2012 clutch#11 which was the result of a Platty Daddy X Platty Daddy. He is holding them back I believe.

I purchased a Het Platty from Ralph that was the result of a Platty Daddy X Het Platty which means that 50% of the Normal looking offspring have a chance of being pp.

I am breeding my Het Platty this year to a Lesser (LN). If I produce any Lessers from that breeding then I'll know that I don't have a Super Platty on my hands. However it won't be until I breed my Het Platty with a Super Lesser (or Super Butter, Super Mojave etc.) that I will be able to say I have or don't have a Super Platty.
