In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Hey, Chris (JCCS), does this answer your question?

Harald,

I know nothing about Boas, but could you find a picture of what color hatchlings would be the possible result of the pairing of the Albino in the first pic?

I do love her colors!:)

Deborah,
That pairing will yield motleys (like the male) and normals...and if he proves to be het albino, there will be albinos and albino motleys, as well.

Thank you. I knew the genetics..but I was wondering if in this species of snake the patterns merge...duh... or something :ack2:

OOPS
You said you knew nothing of boas, so I went with the basic answer.
Guess I'm not sure what you are asking about - I'll catch you on IM to clarify

Molly update

Copulations observed through November and early December. Shed late December. Offered one f/t rat Jan 6 - delayed feeding response (very unusual for her), but did eat. Feb 7 shed.
Fresh pic - taken this morning.

she really looks great!
Was the male still in with her from Dec and Jan? (are you counting the Dec shed or Feb shed as the POS? I assume Feb?)

I just got my first POS of the season on 2/5, oh what a feeling! :)

There was no copulation witnessed for at least 2 weeks prior to her Dec shed, and the male was pulled the day of the Jan feeding - the only reason I know that is because he is evident in the pics taken that day, but I had to pull him so I could leave her rat with her. I didn't witness (or, at least, notice) ovulation. I'm intentionally not being too focused on anything, as I don't want to get my hopes up too much (history...). You're reading my only notes.

I suppose that downplays my memory, but I have enough crap floating around in my head to keep thoughts of baby boas away. At least until the little alarm goes off warning me that babies should be coming soon...but I'm hoping that the advent of motorcycle weather will keep me suitably distracted.

well she deff. looks good, so here's hoping for lil babies around Mid-May!
(or even earlier if her POS was in Dec.. then you'll just walk in to a big surprise before you were expecting it!) ;)

I only witnessed 2 or 3 copulations with this girl, and they were all before Xmas (if I were to guess, I'd say early Dec was the last). She shed about 2 weeks ago, that's when I noticed the bulge and scale separation. She was last fed with the albino, just over 4 weeks ago (yeah, I'm offschedule, I intended to pull ratsicles on Monday).
This pic was taken about 20 minutes ago - she's my avatar girl, all grown up.

Figured I'd grab one more of Molly - partially because I wanted to get a better pic of that bulge, partially because she looked cute peeking out from under like that (she stuck her head out because I was messing around in front of the cages...guess she didn't want to miss anything, like dinner)

Figured I should post a better pic of that Hog Island girl. This is Pepper 6 days after what should have been her post ovulation shed (unless she's totally fooling me). She's an 05 Sears line, a bit over 6 ft & 14.5 lbs empty (6 weeks since her last meal - she was deep in shed on feeding day, and wanted nothing to do with that guinea pig...and I haven't gotten around to offering her anything since).

Lounging in a 90 qt Sterilite - tall version of a 41 qt - while I cleaned her cage

Hmmm, I guess my subscription to the forum went away. ??? Lots of new threads I never got a notice for.

Anyway, looks real good Harald. They all look like nice pairs. Hoping you have better luck this time around too. (Good thing you are into other snakes besides Boa huh. LOL)

I think I got a belly full of slugs this year. :( Not near the growth I had with this female the last time. But yours look pretty promising, so I'll live vicariously through you this year.

Good luck Bro'!

Thanks, Rick...
I will probably regret it at some point (like when I miss the summer because of snake chores), but I'm planning on putting the BCL together in a few weeks.

I got a load of slugs from the girl in post 17 last year. I pulled the male right after that pic, because I figured she could use the break & I was hopeful that I would end up with two litters from the other pairings.

Well looking at Molly, I'd say you have at least one "for sure" litter coming. Not a bad litter to have either. LOL And that '05 hypo looks pretty much about to go also. Strange she just shed a couple weeks ago and is that huge looking already.

Best of luck!

She shed, and shed again 3 weeks later. Here's a more recent shot of her (no food since the previous pic...in fact, she was rather adamant about that, lol)

Not as swollen as Molly, but definitely bigger than usual.

HA HA HA I didn't even catch post 29 was almost a month ago. I'm adding it up in my head, (shed 2 weeks ago, then 3 weeks later) and I'm like a week into the future. I'm such a dork sometimes.

She's definitely looking good and fat. I really like her mustache. It's long, and even hangs over her lip and onto her chin. :D
