• Responding to email notices you receive.

    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

hey new and need help

My BP is very active, curious, but i hear something that sounds like a weeze every 15 seconds or so from it, is that some sort of respitory problem? if so what are other symptoms of respitory problems.

Well Jon, it's hard to say. There isn't enough information to go on.

Can you share some more details?
Like what are the temps in the cage, how long have you had him, is this an only snake, does it look like he is close to shedding, has he recently shed and some dry skin remains on his head, what substrate do you keep him on, how is his appetite, does he hold his mouth closed or is it gaped, is he blowing bubbles or is there mucous, has his behavior changed in any way, have you had him out of the house/taken him anywhere, has there been any lifestyle change or other significant event happen in the past few weeks?

I have a blood python that will make a soft, intermittent "wheeze" or whistling when he is close to a shed because the old skin is becoming loose over his nostrils. This has happened a couple of times. It worried me when I discovered it, so I watched him carefully. This is only one unusual possibility.

In all honesty at this point no one can rule out or confirm an RI.

Are you able to post a picture of him?

i just got him today and odnt kno whis prior living conditions, the surface of the ground is ground up walnut shells, thy sell it at pet stores, i keep the cage a little under 90, 80 at night, i dont see any noticible mucas and surely no boubles, and he isnt abotu to shed or any of that ,

Well, since you just got him, and have no history yet, the best advice that can be given is to make an appointment with a qualified reptile veterinarian. You need to have a qualified reptile vet anyway and now's the time to arrange an initial consult to establish a relationship. Have the standard new acquisition diagnostics done as well.

Whenever there is concern about illness, an actual physical exam is what is needed. Otherwise the best that can be offered is speculation. And speculation relies on assumption that could be entirely mistaken regardless of how well intended. It is in the best interests of your snake to have a knowledgable professional handle and look at him in this instance.

Wouldn't you feel more reassured talking face to face in real time to a knowledgable professional about this?
