PoisonApplePythons
Hi everybody. My name is Jamie. I'm sorta new to the herp world. I had snakes as a kid and then got away from them. Here I am 29 and getting back into snakes. It all Started in September when my oldest son turned 6. He's been begging for a snake since I was bit by a wild copperhead back in may, not to lose track so we will revisit that
. My husband hates, no loathes, snakes but he gave in as much for me as for our son. We picked the cutest bubblegum colored corn snake out and it went from there. I'm, we we, have our original corn snake. A hognose, 11 ball pythons, a sand boa and 2 cali kings. The sand boa and cali kings are listed for sale here. Ok snake bite story. May 28, memorial day 2012. I have a very big expensive flower bed that takes a lot of work. I was weeding under some roses and thought I had stuck my arm on the thorns until this big beautiful copperhead came slithering out from under a neighboring plant. It started tingling on the way to the rr and bled quite a bit. I was informed copperhead bites are not deadly and would not be offered anti venom only antibiotics. I found out later by a closer friend who has quite a bit of experiwnce with copperheads that I was more than likely given a warning strike with little to no venom. I have permanent mild nerve damage in my right arm and due to an adverse reaction to the antibiotics I lost all peripheral vision in my left eye. I now respect the flower bed a little more. So other than that nothing much to know. I have 4 kids ages 9,6,3,1 an amazing hubby, I'm an army veteran and now a stay at home mommy working on my ball python breeding projects
