Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....
fuscusking13,
come back and tell me why you think Dave M has the best quarantine methods.

1. You said you went to his quarantine facility
2. You said you only saw ONE facility
3. you said you saw how vibrant his baby snakes are from across the room.
4. you said you saw that snake that we all call obese.

That means you saw his breeders and the babies in his "QUARANTINE" facility.

by the way, you said you won't come back because you want to be more positive.

a little hint. we can see when you log on and what you are reading.

you are reading this thread. you just won't answer because you can no longer back peddle your way out of your "attempts to decieve"

Hi Shawn,

I'll try to add to this discussion what I can based on a good number of years of working with large numbers of burmese pythons as well as numerous other species of pythons.

First of all I would like to point out that even in nature not all baby burmese are "intended" to grow to mature, aged adults that reproduce. Even within individual clutches there are many baby burmese that have slightly different "genetic make-ups" that make some of the siblings more susceptible to different adversarial obstacles that life would ordinarily throw their way. No different than say, a human family with 4 children from the same parents and one has asthma and the rest do not. Some are simply more genetically predisposed to be more susceptible than others.

Add to this the apparent fact that burmese are more susceptible to chills and lower temps and lower humidity levels than other tropical species. Many species of pythons would never be affected by brief temperatures in the low 70's, but burmese may very well develop respitory infections from it. Though not all. Just those with a higher susceptibility to lower temps.

I also feel that due to 3 decades of captive breeding that burmese with weaker genes that would never have lived to maturity to breed in the wild were able to breed and pass on weaker genes to future generations. Why? Because in captivity we outsmart the odds that nature would have stacked against the weaker specimens. We keep them warm and safe and protected against the elements as we don't want to see any of them die. But in nature it is these very elements that weed out the weak so as to only leave the very strongest to survive to pass on their stronger genes.

Now add to this the inbreeding that is often blatantly performed to achieve each new color or pattern morph that surfaces. I feel that inbreeding further weakens already weak genes. I strongly believe that if stringent outbreeding is focused upon that future genes will be much stronger and the high percentages of fatality that cause these debates/issues will be avoided.

I hope this helps.

HEH hangs out there knowing that any trash talk about him on that site will get yanked if it gets reported. He basically feels safe there. He won't be back here until he's forced to in some manner. Damon felt the same way a few years back... he didn't finally show his face on the boi until after KS had banned him and that left him with no where else to go but here to deal with things lol.

Hi Bobby,

Thanks for the nice comments pertaining to the job offer we have
posted. You sound like a great guy and that you would have fit the bill
perfectly. But that is not the only opportunity we have available. Part of
the reason for posting this thread topic is to also locate good, honest
folks in each state that can run franchise operations for our company.
The idea is to eventually have a High End Herps Inc representative in
each and every state so that all of our U.S.A. customers are within
driving distance of our animals. When this idea is finally launched it will
elliminate the need for any and all risky shipping as well as the need
for a costly delivery service.

If you are interested in taking a part in this and representing your
state just let me know and we can go from there. Needless to say you
would receive very hefty commissions for the animals that would be sold
through your outlet.

Hope to hear from you soon,

Hi Bobby,

Thanks for getting back to me so fast.

Basically it is not a very complex concept. Through the
thread and through daily interactions with various
customers that are truly a cut above I am slowly gaining
someone from each state (i'll need 3 from Texas) that will
be able to house our offspring and offer their services as
our customer representatives, in trade for a percentage of
each sale.

Basically, if you are serious about considering this, I
will need to get to know you as much as possible over a
short period of time. I have a pretty good idea about you
already just from various things I have read in different
threads, etc, but it would be necessary to know you much
more personally. Not that we are nosy or anything petty
like that. It's just that, before shipping off many
thousands of dollars of reptiles to be cared for we need to
get to know a person well and you/they in turn need to know
us well too.

Let me break down for you what this is all about: We are
looking for at least one person in each of the continental
states to house and market our animals so that our
customers, wherever they live, are within easy driving
distance of the snakes they wish to purchase. The
representative would not be out of pocket for any expense.
All caging and food will be provided. All that is required
is daily care and the occasional sales that will occur. For
this we will offer anywhere from 25% to possibly 50% of the
gross sale, depending upon the species and value, etc.

This is all about creating convenience for our customers
and safety for the animals. As I'm sure you know, shipping
can be very risky. I want to take this out of the equation
entirely. We have been very fortunate in that we have as
yet never lost an animal in shipping. But it's bound to
happen eventually and I don't look forward to this
nightmare. We genuinely love all of our animals and care
very much about them and their wellbeing.

This service will not be unfolding until about May or June
when we begin to get the first of our 2007 year's birthings
and hatchings.

Let me know what you think about this so far and if you
still like the way it sounds I can explain it a little bit
more in depth. If you have any questions don't hesitate to
fire away. If you know good folks in other states that you
know are trustworthy don't hesitate to reccomend them to
us. There are still a lot of states that we don't have
filled.

I hope to hear from you soon.

Thanks,

Damon lives

I found his latest post, here it is:

Howdy Folks!

I just wanted to say that I have not been able to be around the last couple of weeks due to a skillsaw accident where I all but severed two of the digits on my left hand. The blade went through 80% of my index finger and about 50% of my thumb, leaving them dangling and in need of emergency surgery. I first went to my local emergency here in town but I was informed by the resident surgeon that I needed immediate attention from an Orthopedic Specialist/surgeon. So I was ambulanced 3 hours north to L.S.U. emergency where I received the necessary surgery to reattach the tendons and ligaments and sew my fingers back together. I was also administered intraveous antibiotics to ward off any infection. Since I had cut through bone I was told I had a 20% chance of the wound going septic and causing me to die. These last couple weeks have been a bit scary to say the least. I was also prescribed multiple antibiotics and must go in for bi-weekly check-ups. So far it looks to be healing well though and hopefully it shouldn't be too long before I am back in action.

Here are a couple of pictures of my hand not long after I returned from the hospital during a twice-daily wound cleaning when the bandages had to come off.

Needless to say this injury has made things very difficult on us here these last couple weeks. Since most of what we raise and breed are larger pythons and boas I have been unable to perform my usual duties. Not just because they are so big but because we must avoid infection of my wounds. To further add hardship we recently lost our one employee when our helper was forced to move out of state in Dec. So these past two and a half weeks my wife Tawni has been shouldering nearly the entire burden of what we have to do here. This includes caring for over 250 snakes, thousands of rodents, hundreds of rabbits, a pig farm, chickens, cats and dogs, sales and shipping, feeding, and one injured husband, in addition to all the usual household duties which are already occupation enough. She has been just incredible to say the least. I'm lucky to have such an incredibly strong and able wife.

Here are the pics of my hand shortly after the accident:

To further add hardship we recently lost our one employee when our helper was forced to move out of state in Dec.

Now why would his helper be forced to move out of state? It might be that the great state of LA is tired of scammers, like move on down the road guys.

BTW, do they make a brand of Reticulated skill saws? Or did he get caught again with his hand in the wrong cookie jar? :shrug01:

Wow.....Now it 250 snakes but not to long ago it was Thousands os snakes..I guess the snakes moved to. I guess it was to crowded in a old 20x20 shack:rofl:

Hundreds of rabbits..but yet it was posted here that he had a few rabbit cages and some pigs... I am starting to wonder ifmaybe he is not lying about the numbers maybe he just can't count :shrug01:

in addition to all the usual household duties which are already occupation enough

Not that I believe it is hard work keeping a very old rusty trailer livable..
She has to change the cardboard in the window frames, weld sheet metal over the holes plus living with thousands rats in the trailer with them. Not to mention the rat she is married to.

Bump

Oh no you dont! Wee damon's thread had sunk all the way to page 3! We wont stand for a weaselly sink into oblivion around here. Sorry damon!

When I first read this, I found it most interesting that there was no mention of "their" kids. It's the first thing I always credit my wife with. The long list of duties makes no mention of it. I guess when you borrow kids for a make-believe family, you forget about them easily.

I want to know how he can say that this guy has the best quarantine procedures....

specially since he keeps his breeders and babies in the quarantine building.
