    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Captive born reddish/orange jeweled Halmahera type Indonesian blue-tongue skink. Tiliqua gigas.

It’s about 8-months old and already 20 inches in length. It will grow quite a bit larger and probably reach about 26 inches in total length. Too young to sex.

$495 (plus $55 for overnight shipping with FedEx; or free pickup)

I selected this Halmahera blue-tongue for its incredible bright coloration. However, I only have one from this region, and currently need more space for my Northerns.

It has never threatened to bite and has been tamed by regular handling. (Some Tiliqua gigas BTs, especially wild-caught imports, are nervous and aggressive.)

Great addition to a captive breeding program focused on bold color. Would also make a gorgeous display animal. (Most Halmahera type blue-tongue skinks are fairly dull and dark in coloration.)

The very tip of the tail might be slightly bent but hardly noticeable. (Contact me for a CU photo of the tail.)

Halmahera blue-tongues are a fully tropical form of T. gigas reputedly from Halmahera Island in Indonesia; they require high humidity and fairly stable temperatures (mid 80s to low 90s) to keep them healthy. (The nighttime temperature has dropped into the high 70s at times without causing problems.)

I use cypress mulch for the terrarium substrate, and keep a large water bowl filled. There's also an extra hide with damp sphagnum moss, etc. The habitat should not be wet but it does need to be humid. (This setup works fine even here in desiccated Arizona where the humidity is about 6% at the moment.)

[Northerns (T. s. intermedia), in contrast, come from areas of Australia that experience both regular droughts and monsoons, and seem resilient to low humidity except during shedding.]
