    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

So my female hog (less than a yr old) shed 1 day ago. The entire shed was one piece, except for half of the face. I check the shed like you're suppose to and found it missing half the head and no second eye cap. Checking her i can tell where some of the edges are where the skin has not shed - around the mouth, eye, and past the eye. I know you are not suppose to try to pull the skin off and I know you can soak a boa in water to help it finish shedding (but not deep so it won't drown). But i don't think soaking her will help her face. Any ideas? So far all i did yesterday was spray her in the face/body with warm water. Thanks in advance for the help. :shrug01:

You can put her in a pillow case or snakebag with a towel dampeded in warm water for an hour. When you wet the towel ring it out so its not dripping , kinda toss it in the bag , add snake , close bag , put back in cage for an hour.
The rougher the towel the better. The humidity from the towel will loosen the dry shed and the material from the towel & bag will help pull / scrub it off.

well i've done the wet towel trick for the last couple of nights (3 times now). the skin around the eye has shed (as far as I can tell) but I can still see a fold on the eye (the eye cap i believe). i will continue with the wet towel trick, but what are the side affects if the cap doesn't shed before the next shed? anyone know?

2 main causes of poor shedding...

Humidity too low, and dehydration. Both take a little time to rectify. The wrinkle, line, dimple, or whatever in the lens makes me think a little dehydrated. If the cap came off successfully, than some drinks of water, a little more humidity, and another shed will probably fix that up on it's own. :thumbsup:

Good luck.
Rick
