This post is about Holland Color Creations' ad's on Kingsnake. Be very aware of this person. I bought a supposed Gravid Rudis Chameleon from this person Thursday, the 12th of Dec. Holland of Holland Color Creations, informed me that she would take the cham to the PO first thing in the morning. I informed her that she should take the cham to the PO late in the afternoon as the PO holds all their boxes until 5 or 6 PM. I live in the midwest so I informed her to make sure the box was insulated and there was a heat pack inside the box as it was fairly cold here, 25 to 30 for a low. She disregarded this warning and took the cham to the PO at 10:00 am. I didn't get the box almost Midnight the following night, Saturday the 21st. The over the 24 hour thing was the PO's fault not hers. But when the box arrived I knew for sure the cham was dead. She shipped the Rudis in an old used cricket box with large screened holes on all sides. not to mention there was no heat pack and she was put in a large deli container that wasn't secure and she was running around the box. For insulation there was three pieces of styrofoam, all dirty and nasty, looked like they were used as fish packing on some fishing boat. I had emailed Holly, as she had stated on several of her emails to me in setting all this up, several times on Saturday, the day the cham was supposed to arrive, just to confirm the address and that the cham hadn't arrived by 3:00 PM, the last shipment where I live. I didn't hear back from here until Sunday with this long sob story about how chameleons were her life and she shouldn't be to blame for the PO taking so long. Iwasn't that the PO took so long, that I wasn't blaming her for, it was the methods, and the fact that I had warned her how to ship and pack the chameleon before she sent it. On top of all this, I find out a week later, from a very trusted source close by, that Holland, or Holly, isn't a she, but a he, and this person is only 11 years old. Don't deal with this person, very unreliable, I cannot stress this enough.

Buddy.... this is a very good heads-up for us, but, you are about to have this thread deleted by the Webslave for the NO FULL NAME RULE! You've GOT TO put your full name in every post on the BOI....
In any case, you never mentioned if the Cham was still alive when you finally got the package??

....Neil

Full Name

First Post. The cham was alive and still is. It was the shipping method that was horrible, an old cricket box???

Jim.... First of all.... welcome aboard the BOI!

Just be glad that he arrived alive!!... You were very lucky.... but, ya got to admit, for 11 years old, he didn't do too badly, considering the Cham is still alive!!.... Granted, he's got a LOT of learning to do, but, he seems to be on the right track??
I'd email him back with a step by step instructional paragraph detailing exactly how to pack a "real" box for shipping??.... Tell him to print it and save it, them just follow the instructions the next time??.... Try to help him out, instead of berating him for being young and an entrepreneur??.... We all have to learn sometime??.... Think about it??

I can see your point, but I did try and help this kid out with the heat pack and the insulated box. But the fact that he, was a she, and signing emails as; Holly, and Holland, I don't exactly feel that's a correct way to conduct business.

Not to mention, now that I know it's a he, I will call him he as I do not know his name, he tried to sell a CB Melleri on Kingsnake recently, but the guy who sold him the WC animal busted him about it. So he changed the ad to read Melleri instead of CB Melleri.

I feel that good business is good business and should be respected, but lying about who you are is bad business.

Just a quick note. I agree that maybe a little more instruction about how to ship and pack boxes for reptiles would have been helpful for him.

But this is what I did. Heat pack, Post "Live Reptiles" on the box, insulation, don't take the box to the PO in the morning, wait until late in the afternoon, etc...

Jim,

I am glad the Rudis is alive above all. I have dealt with this child myself. HE purchased a gravid female rudis from me in September at the Tampa show, received a gravid, super healthy animals and was very happy with her. Then a few months later he e-mails me saying that she is not gravid any longer, that he does not believe she was ever gravid and that he wanted me to to do something about getting him another one. He blantantly called me a liar and stated that he thought she was never gravid. I told him that I had sold many gravid rudis and he is the only one saying that she had not given birth. ( I sold 9 other graivd female and all 9 gave birth) I asked him if he had happened to miss her giving birth and that she might have eaten her babies.( I had just had a female C.Fuelleborni a.k.a. FlapJack Chameleon do that the very same day) He then proceeded to say that was a "lame excuse" and started calling my company, myself names and making threatning slanderous comments. I told him I am sorry but there was nothing I could do and that he really should have his parents pay attention to what he is saying to adults and to have his parents explain what "slander" and "liable" meant. I never heard another word from him. Than I see now he is selling all kinds of Chameleons on Kingsnake. ( I don't have a problem with anyone selling animals, but he should have his parents help specially in shipping, and need not misrepresent the animals. He was selling a pair of ADULT Mellers Chameleons and stating that they were c.b. Anyone who knows anything abotu Chameleons know there are no adult c.b. Mellers out there for sale and if they were they would not be the same prices as wild caught animals. I knwo exactly where he purchases his animals from and the Mellers were not c.b. Another member of this board e-mailed him to see if he had proof of them being c.b. and he could not produce proof and basically made up a story about them and where they came from. This child is starting to sound alot like another Jesse Underill. Everyone please just be careful. I am not saying he should not be selling animals, but I totall think that his parents should be involved and they should learn about proper shipping practices and not subject an animal to such a tragedy as what could have happened to Jim. Also The Post Office no longer guarantees overnight delivery on LIve animals. They are now a second day shipment. Jim was very lucky they arrived the next day even though it was very late the next day.

Neil,

How can you even say that this kid is on the right track? He lies about the animals, ships in a totally unsafe, ignorant way and just because the animal happened to arrive alive you think that he is on a good start? Being young is no excuse. He and anyone that wants to get into selling animals online and shipping them needs to do the research before and get ALL of the information first. Not learn as he goes.
Try to help him out, instead of berating him for being young and an entrepreneur??.... We all have to learn sometime??.... Think about it??
That is the most ludicrous BS statement I have ever heard come out of you. First off a child should not be selling by himself anyway. You have even stated this before about them not being able to go into a legal contract. And the fact that this kid did not have thought of the well being of the animal but rather just the money is a sure sign of more awful things to come. If this kid cared about the animals he would have asked the wholesaler he purchases animals from how to ship. He had told me that they are buddies and both members of the Herp Society there. He did not care enough to ask PERIOD! I can guarantee we will be hearing more about this kid in the near future. If

I thought this person was full of crap!

Not to be mean, but I thought this person was full of crap when all of a sudden he had CB fisheri, rudis, mellers, etc. I guess Rob fixed the kid up because he changed all the posts, taking out the CB part.

Justyn,

I actually did not confront him directly, but rather had someone else contact him and try to get proof that the animal was c.b. (which he could not proove) Also I wanted it clear, this kid does not get his animals from me (other than the one Rudis Female).

yeah.......

Hey, hope all is going well at your end of the street Rob. I did not mean he got all his animals off you, although I did think he got more then that one rudis, but hey, I can be wrong, its ok! Either way, this kid needs to stay out of the herp business for a while until he is able to ship and advertise his animal properly.
