    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

This guy is horrible. I have learned my lesson. We pm'd each other about a cornsnake I had for sale then agreed to meet at a mutual location. I texted the night before to confirm and he replied all was a go. I showed up the next day at the time agreed and he didn't. I tried to call and text the number he had given me with no response. So if any of you decide to do business with make sure you have the money in advance. I drove the hour to meet him waited the 45 min. for him to show then the hour back home with not so much as a sorry or a phone call he couldn't make it. Never heard from him again. BE VERY CAREFUL with this guy.
 
I'm not trying to play the devil's advocate, but he didn't do anything outside of his "legal" parameters.

I agree, if he decided not to show up, he should have let you known before-hand, and that is unprofessional. But, who knows, maybe this person had a serious incident he needed to tend to, and the last thing on his mind was buying a snake?

You know, I'm just posing possibilities here. Remember, it could be worse.

Either way, I hope you figure something out and why this person wasn't able to keep up on their part.

There may have been a good reason he could not make it, in fact there is an endless list of good reasons for that. However the list of reasons for not calling is much shorter.

FWIW, you can do bad business with somebody without breaking the law, it is worth knowing that this was handled this way.

I agree. How do you know he did not have something tragic happen? He did not scam/break laws/break rules. You might be out some travel time but you still have the snake and nothing changed hands. It seems to me this thread was jumping the gun a little and is dragging someone's name in the mud for no good reason.

No excuse for not calling. I have been in this situation several times and it pisses me off. A waste of time to go to meet someone who doesn't bother showing up or calling.
I now refuse to meet unless the animal is paid in full prior.
Too many inconsiderate people out there that do nothing but waste your time.

Time is money and my time can be spent doing many other things than waiting on a dead beat buyer. When someone tells me they are going to meet me and then doesn't with no call before or after the fact it cost me money.

One thing I have learned is that if I am scheduled to meet someone at a certain time and place... I make sure I get in touch before I leave the house to confirm that the deal is still on!! If I can't get in touch with the person I will leave a message and tell them to call me or E-mail me when they are leaving their house so that I KNOW they are going to be there... I learned this a couple months ago when I tried to meet someone with a snake and they didn't show.. Mind you.. I didn't travel an hour each way which would have made me even more upset but still.. as it's been said.."Time Is Money"

Good Luck and I would like to hear the buyers side and excuse for now showing!!

Last I checked gas costs money, so not only did he waste her time he wasted her money, good guys don't waste your time and money, BAD GUYS do!

A deposit should be required, but I do not always do so. I will, however, not meet up with anyone if I do not speak with them immediately prior to leaving the house to make sure everything is still on schedule. Sorry that guy wasted your time....a valuable leson learned and now the word's out on him.
 
It looks to me like the person saying they were going to buy the snake never had any intentions of buying it. I think he was playing a game all along.
 
I just hope the buyer is okay. Hopefully he's not laying in a hospital bed somewhere.

Now if he's sitting at home giggling about how funny it was to make that one snake guy travel all that way for nothing, that's something else entirely.

If I was going to place a bet, it would be on the part of your quote that I highlighted in red. Any respectable buyer would have called to say they changed their mind, and all of these worse case cenerios, are highly unlikely.

In fact, if you go to members list, and go to his user name, you will see that he has been on Fauna today. This guy never had any intentions of meeting.
 
Just to let those few that think the buyer may be hurt or laying dead in a ditch I've went to his user info and his last log in was this morning. I also pm'd him to let him know I posted on the BOI with no response so it is highly likely he has nothing to back up his story.
And I will make from now on deposit is required for all transactions. Lesson is learned.
