In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Hi all,
I really don't know much as being an expert on insects but for the last near 3 years or so I have been in a big way about learning about our honey bees.
Insect wise I love our local natives.
In my neighborhood we actually have several tarantula crossing signs that should be observed.
I personally can't harm any local critters, just won't do it, and love seeing the locals no matter what they are.
So about honey bees... we really need them.
If I can help anybody interested in them please, drop me a line.
I have extra items I can share.
I also know what is a square deal.
I don't know all the answers but know where to look.
If anybody wants to learn more about this I would like to help.
Thank you.
Andy

I would totally love to see a 'tarantula crossing' sign, could you please post a picture? :)

Hi Lucille,
So I just came back from trying to take a pic of one and couldn't find any🤔.
I live really close to the gate of Mt. Diablo State Park.
I am not sure if it is a seasonal thing or if it is due to a budget cut.
So googling the subject I found that there are some tarantula crossing signs in southern CA.
But they look different.
There are also some novelty ones out there but that is not what I saw.
I also found out that the tarantulas are on the move in the fall for mating.
There are also state sponsored tarantula walks with the docents on the mountain.
I just like having them around.
Sorry I couldn't get you a pic, but rest assured if I find a local one I'll post it.
Andy.
P.S. now I am wondering if this is a senior moment 🙄.

Andrew thank you for looking. I bet where you live near the state park is gorgeous. I've never seen a wild T in my area, I think there may be some more towards Austin.
