In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

one pair hets 15 eggs no caramels
put a different het caramel on the female
Last clutch of the year
I get 3 of the below and some normal colored

They look too dark to be caramel. All 3 horribly kinked. 1 passed and the other 2 quickly on their way.

Are they caramel? Parents were normal appearing unproven het caramel. They were pulled from the egg after noticing kinks. Normally I don't pull my babies from the egg.

I did have a problem with kinked babies this year. Never had kinked babies before. I put in brand new heat since the old heat source was looking raggedy. No good deed goes unpunished.

They are caramels. I'm so sorry. I lost a clutch of het to het caramels...5 eggs, 3 went bad right away and he other 2 were dead at day 60. Not kinked, just dead. I may let my females incubate this year...

Thanks for the replies. I Incubated at 86-87. I think the new heat pads I put in didn't keep the temps up and they fluctuated at night.

My kingsnakes get expensive food.

So sorry to see that. I lost 3 super cinnys to kinking this year too, it's heartbreaking. Temp spikes could do it, I'm hoping that's what did it in both our cases and next year shows some healthy gorgeous babies.

Man, that sucks. :( I'm so sorry!

Unless the temperature fluctuations were rapid, I doubt that's the problem. My little Hova-Bator can't keep it at exactly 89 degrees at night either, so the temps tend to fluctuate one or two degrees (usually ~one), but I've never had any problems. :(

I'm attributing my issues to over filling my incubator. I think the air didn't circulate well enough, so the eggs closest to the heat source got too hot:(

ahhh, this very well could have been my problem. In previous years I have used bottom heat, no kinks. This year I put heat on the sides, kinks all over. Ph kinks, albino kinks, caramel kinks. Very bad year overall. I'm going back to bottom heat next season.
