• In the past two days I have gotten emails asking about being requested to provide credit card info in order to register and also to make a post in the classifieds forums. PLEASE NOTE: In no instance will this site ask you for this sort of information. The only time any request for payment is made is if you choose to opt-in for a higher membership level, and that is done SOLELY through PayPal. Anything else is coming from a source other than this site. My guess is that this is coming through Google Adsense, but when I can get someone to send me a screen shot of this sort of request, I will know more.

    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Everyone needs some good stuff to hear and talk about in this hobby right now. Just back from the big NARBC Tinley Park show I would like to give you guys some good stuff.

A bunch of money was raised yet again at the auction to go to PIJAC to fight anti reptile legislation.

The show was a huge success bringing in somewhere around 7,000 people I believe. Cheers to Bob and Brian on being great hosts.

Mark O'Shea was as always absolutely hillarious. Sitting in the bar with him last night was just a riot. If he tells you that I threw that plate of artichoke dip at him, he is a liar!

Bob Clark had an amazing albino redfoot tortoise (the pythons weren't bad either).

Brian & Lori Barcykz had (on top of all the awesome snakes) an albino nile monitor and a hypo nile monitor.

NERD brought out all the insane neon ball pythons you could ask for.

Brian Sharp, Mark Bell, John Mack and many other people displayed amazing stuff.

If you needed some albino red eared sliders the size of a small child Don Hamper had them.

There were albino sulcatta tortoises at Strictly Reptiles table.

How about the albino water monitor a friend of mine bought? Amazing!

That guy Rich Z was there with some pretty amazing corns.

If it was cool it was there.

We missed seeing Pro Exotics and Ralph Davis but this show is the one you should never miss people.
 
I agree....it was an awesome show! Just to add to the wonders you already listed:

Bob Clark even had some eggs hatching right there at his booth!

How big was that American alligator that was on display? 12 feet? 15? He was massive!

I saw my first albino Argentine boa and solid black Ball python.... gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous!

We had the pleasure of meeting some Fauna folks face to face, which is always a treat! Brought home some beautiful snakes, and had a wonderful time!

Terese, I know ALL about those babies at Bob Clarks table, I told him it was no fair showing something that cute, as I bought two of his snakes. Sorry I missed you there!

This year I was able to make it to Daytona. But is seems I missed a good one. Forgive my ignorance, but is this event just once a year? When is the next big one in Chicago again? Thanks in advance.
 
It was a really nice show, and Bob Clark’s BP hatchlings were so sweet! It was really nice to see all the folks I’ve read about on this and other sites, while lurking, not to mention some truly amazing animals.

And, a special thank you to Rich Z. for a very cute Okeetee corn hatchling. My husband got it as a present on Saturday, and the little guy is settling in nicely.

He's fine.....and that Ball was my favorite snake *ever*....I raised her myself.....hope she makes lots more good babies!
 
heres some good news

Well heres some good news its a bit off the reptile scale but none the less its still good news
as of 4:29 today monday the 13th a baby girl weighing in at 7.6lbs and 21 inches long was born into my family ..very beautiful and bright eyes and perfectly healthy ... today i am once again a proud papa


just thought i would share some goods news with my friends that use this site
and you all know who you are

Congratulations!!

About the show, It was great! We had a great time and met some great people. Brian Potter from Chicago Reptile House was the auctioneer on Saturday night, he was hilarious! Best stand-up I have seen in a long time, I hope he does it again next year. Also want to add, Mark O'Shea is a very nice guy! Genuine. I mentioned I had seen him recently on the tube, chasing croc's in the middle of the desert, and he started telling jokes like we were old friends. Pretty cool!

The probes I got form you are doing great!

Hell Evan, I will even give you credit for having one of the nicest ball pythons there. I think for $500 it was pretty cool. Wish I had bought it! Show was great for us we found new homes for 100`s of corns also. Look forward to seeing everyone next year.

Well Jim, I can't take all the credit as I did not hatch out the sexing probes myself but they were born here in Michigan, not imported. Your adult hypo lavender corn was truly amazing. I am not much of a corn guy but it was HOT. I do kind of like corn bread and corn on the cob though. That is one weird ball python. I think she may be het for 3 headed paisley. Evan

The show was 1st class..big names in the business, best of the best snakes. It was great to finally meet some of my friends from Fauna. Congrats Shawn, nothing quite like a baby.
 
For those who were not there some other highlights (for me anyway) were the 10-12 foot albino retics at Prehistoric Pets tables. Mark and Kim Bell brought pastel ghost, banana, pied, genetic stripe and lots of other smokin ball pythons. BHB Enterprises had the lemon blast pin stripe, pin stripe spider and other shweet ball pythons. There were all kinds of amazing cages and rack units. A few years ago herp enthusiasts had to modify dry goods made for other animals or make their own stuff. Now there are a bunch of people pumping out really great stuff to keep your herps caged well and safe as well as cut down your work load and make life a bit easier.

The chondro python displays were really cool. It is not often you will see a display about 30' long and 8' tall loaded with every color, locality and size of green tree python on the planet.

There was a really well done venomous display too.

It is really time for everybody to plan their trip for next years show!
