• Responding to email notices you receive.

    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

How do I delete attachments?

I was in "Manage Attachments" trying to load a couple of pics. The software informed me that I was exceeding my limit and offered me a link to see all of the previous attachments that I had on Fauna. But I don't see how to delete attachments.

:)

John,
You have to be a paid member delete attachments uploaded on the fauna server. If you linked the attachment from a site like photobucket, you can just delete the attachment on the site you linked it from.

The ability to delete attachments is controlled by a member's ability to be able to edit and/or delete the message within the forum in question. And yes, we are talking about capabilities that I have made as perks of the paid memberships. There is really very little in the way of incentives I can offer members to become paid members, so I had to make some decisions along those lines.

Each non paying member can post 1 megabyte of images here. Multiply that out by the potential of every registered member here eventually posting that many images, and we have about one third of my hard drive on my server being consumed by those images. When it comes time for me to have to pay for a bigger hard drive, who do you think is helping to foot that bill? So of COURSE I need to give the paying members here a bigger piece of the pie.

Rich, where do I find the info. on how to become a paid member? Is it paid yearly? How much?

Go to your "user cp" and it is on the left of the screen under "paid subscriptions". :)

Thanks Bill and Amy.Is paypal the only method of payment accepted? If so,I'll have to get an account.

Private message Webslave, I think you could probably send payment to him but I am not sure. Glad I could help. :)

Actually I have been meaning to set up an order form page for that purpose, but heck, just not enough time to go around I guess. In the meantime, I have set up an option on my http://www.SerpenCo.com website for this purpose.

Thanks.
