• Responding to email notices you receive.
    **************************************************
In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Inquiry How do I take back my credits from Alex Hue?

I don't really think Rich is going to lie for anyone. IMO, what Rich posted can be taken as Alex's word.

If Alex typed all that out with his cell, I applaud him for that.

Alex told me he has email capabilities on his cell phone, and has gotten emails from someone with this thread sent to him as a text file. But since I am certainly no expert on cell phone technology, I have no idea how he created a Word document and got that onto his cell phone as an attachment to the email he sent me. :shrug01:

Rich,
I made my post LATE last night (maybe a bit too late, LOL) and I in NO WAY meant to seem as though you were lying or trying to deceive anyone. After I re-read my post, I should have just asked you. I am sorry if my post offended you, that was NOT my intent.

I was trying to figure out in my little brain how Alex could send the .doc file, but couldn't send any of the people with problems in this thread an e-mail. Or why he didn't he send the .doc file to his wife and have her post it here since she's running the business. Again, I'm not questioning Rich or his actions only Alex's.

His wife has internet access, I assume he has the ability to call his wife...so why can't she post here for him? (given she signs her posts)

all he would have to do with the word doc, is have a USB cord for the phone, and transfer that data to his sd card/memory on the phone, then text that as an email to Rich.

It IS time consuming, and since that is the case, its easier to just type something up in word addressing everyone, and then just send it to one person as a text.

Or bluetooth..... Not just USB. there are many ways to transfer data from one place, to another. SD/flash card adapters... what have you.

I can put a word doc on my Micro SD card, put it into my phone, and send it as an attachment to anyone from anywhere I have service. So he could have wrote it on the PC, and just used the phone for sending. It is possible.

But usually when I send email with the phone, you get an attached signature stating it was sent from a BlackBerry. Not sure how iPhone or the others do it though.

Sorry, didnt realize people had kind of already addressed this. Im just repeating info that you guys already posted then!!!

All it takes is a little bit of knowledge about technology these days :)

IF his phone is good enough to handle email with text document attachments, it's very likely that it's also good enough to tether to his PC. All you need is a decent smartphone and a usb cable and you have a modem. In this day and age, it's going to be hard to sell the excuse that he didn't have internet access. I'm not buying it.

Wes,

Sorry, but no, I didn't take offense at your statement at all. I believe it is a valid question. My only answer is that I provided what Alex sent me, and I am telling everyone here what he told me. I do know that Alex is pretty technologically savvy, and although I just don't use cell phones, most other people do and know a hell of a lot more about them than I do. So I had no reason then nor now, to question the mechanics of how that email to me took place. I do know that I got that email from Alex's email address that he uses for his cell phone.

Oh and about another comment on this thread. As far as I know, Heather does not have access to the internet neither. Since she lives in the same home that Alex and her recently moved to, my assumption is that she is cut off from the internet as well. But I don't KNOW this for a fact, and am not claiming so.

i tend to disagree with this statement, sure, its possible that there are phones capable of doing this, *i think* but it would be using the network of the cell phone service, and it may not be available on his plan. I know i wouldnt pay for that. Ill have to look into this a bit more.

I think the most logical answer was the document was sent as an attachment to Rich's email in text form from the cell phone. I absolutely "Buy" this information.

My phone can send attachments as texts * pictures and music and such* But it is absolutely not capable of acting as a wireless modem device. I use Bluetooth as well, to transfer stuff from my computer, to the phone.

My phone can act as a modem, text, internet device, and send attachments.

But if he can type out a word doc and send it to Rich, why can't he send another, or go to a kinkos or a library? Both of these establishments offer internet services/pcs for a small fee or nothing! If he owes that much and his reputation is being questioned, it seems to me that finding a way on to the internet would be a priority

Without knowing exactly what kind of phone he has, it's not possible to be sure if it has that capability. However, with the service providers I've used, all you need is an internet data plan for your phone to be able to tether IF it has that capability. Phones that can double as a modem aren't NEARLY as uncommon as you seem to imply they are. Many Blackberry and Windows Mobile phones can easily do it. Since you bring up Bluetooth, it's also fairly easy to tether via a bluetooth connection. Again, depending on the phone model. If you're so eager to believe that someone who is "technologically savvy" can't get online..that's on you. But, wouldn't you find a way to keep in touch if you had many customers that you owed many thousands of dollars to? Does his name really buy him that much trust? I have a feeling that if I were the subject here, I would have already been drawn and quartered no matter what excuses I gave.

a name means nothing to me. I dont care who you are if you are in the wrong. There is a LOT of money involved here, and it needs to be addressed as soon as humanly possible.... With that said.....

I dont know how tech savvy he is.... you look at rich, and he knows about computers, but dosnt really know a ton about the phones out there today, Heck, i know the phone/internet thing is possible... but i really dont research phones to know which models have the capability, nor how much it actually costs to use that kind of a plan. Basically in my eyes, It could be one of those situations where he just either dosnt have the plan, or the capable phone... or dosnt know ( maybe he knows and isnt using it? i dont know that.... ) I Just try not to assume where i can.

if this were me? Id take care of my mom, but i would get a message up on my site about there being an emergency and contact may be limited. But i would absolutely handle it. I wouldnt wait around for months... if i didnt have the money, i would SAY so. Its STUPID not to.... People are understanding if you are up front with them from the get go.

Since Alex has a cell phone, i think he should be calling the people he needs to deal with.

That's basically my whole point. Whether it be via phone, email, message board, carrier pigeons or whatever..where there's a will there's a way. To hide behind the excuse that he doesn't have internet access in his new home just doesn't cut it nowadays. To even try to use that as a legit excuse just makes me think that he may have no intentions of taking care of this.

Nowadays you dont really need a high end phone to access the internet. I have a basic Samsung A 737 which is a small screen multimedia phone, and it does allow for e-mail access. I know you can have text capability without having internet access, but you have to have internet access to send a e-mail through the phone. Did he send a e-mail or a text?

You can have a plan that allows email and still not have a browser or internet access. Most everyday cell phones without bells and whistles have an email address that is sent through the same service that is used for texting.

this whole happening makes me wonder,

excuse 1 : my grandfather died
Excuse 2 : mom is ill
excuse 3 : i am moving
excuse 4 : i have no i net connection

in the mean time we are half a year further down the road ( from my piont of vieuw )

he does have time to make a reply on the BOI via somewon using his "smartpone 'with email capabilety's

however sending the ppl who he still hase problems with a mail via said 'smartphone' is to much and takes to much time ,

if he hase some time like 5 min he could even ( with the smartphone ) use the paypal site to send monney back to ppl and send them emails.

in the 6 months that alex hold me in the line he didnt have time du to excuse 1 , 2 , 3 or 4 but he did have time to post ( some ) new posts on his OWN forum , he did have time to Send ppl annimals they ordered see this post of a user in Geckoforums : http://www.geckoforums.net/showthread.php?t=40985 so orders that are being made are being filled and send ( or not )

but still no time to solve problems he hase with customers.

a person can have multiple excuses some legit others not so legit but having excuses for 6 freeking months is just playing games imo.

there is NO excuse for alex that he didnt fix his problems with ppl but still hase time to cash monney from new buyers.

my ultimatum hase run out ( hase ran out for 2 dys already , since i am a nice person i will give alex 7 more days meaning next sunday i want my issue to be resolved:

alex can trancefer my monney back to me via paypal ( [email protected] ).

i have been more then flexible and patient with alex, its time to finish this so that i and alex can move on, i am sure that he much rather not have these problems we have adressed in this thread since he hase 'according himself 'enough trouble on his head already thus solving these issues will help him have less problems on his head wich can only benifit himself.

Greetings
Richard van Vondel

Just out of curiosity, has anyone attempted to view this site via a browser on their cell phone? I'm curious to know how well that would work. I find it rather tedious just trying to use my little laptop with the 12 inch screen on it. :shrug01:

I've viewed this site with the browser from various smartphones including AT&T 8525, Tilt, Blackberry and T-Mobile G1. It's not an altogether pleasent viewing experience if you don't have the keenest eyes, but in a pinch it definitely comes in handy and gets the job done. You can tweak the browser settings to render the site in a "mobile view" to make big sites more user friendly for small screens. Pretty much anything you can do online with a laptop, you can also do with a good phone. When I was having internet problems, I also tethered my phone to my computer so I could read and post here from the comfort of my PC.

I view the responses through my phone when I'm at work just fine, but responding to them is a bit of an ordeal. It can be done, but its a PITA.
