    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

How do you edit or delete ads now?

I have posted a few ads as of October 2025 and I can't figure out how to edit them or delete them like I used to do. I can't find any access to a control panel. So what steps do I need to take if I change the price or if I sell the animal and want to delete the ad?
 
Well, you are in the correct area, just not the correct door.

And to elaborate on this a little bit. Editing and deleting ads (or posts in general) that are older than 24 hours requires a Contributor level membership or above. Do not ask staff to delete anything for you. My attitude about this is that if it is not worth $25 per year for YOU to have this capability, then it is certainly not worth OUR time to do it for you. Our time has value to us too. And there are many MANY other things we want to do with our time than doing favors for you.

Cool sounds like I’ll just take my Business else where to buy animals since that’s the attitude with it!

I just love it when someone coming around here to take what they can for free takes a slap at me for not giving them even more, then gets offended when I don't offer to kiss their ass. :ROFLMAO:

So let me get this straight. You put your email address into public view in a reply to an ad here and now because scammers have seen your email address THAT YOU POSTED IN PUBLIC and are contacting you, you are blaming this site because we won't step in FOR FREE and pull you out of the crack in your own ass you threw yourself into. Is that right?

And then you get incensed when I point out that it only would cost you $25 for a membership level that would allow you to delete that info yourself and apparently the removal of your email address is not THAT important to you. And I stated that, as such, it certainly is not that important to us, neither. And your train jumped the tracks over that. Is that also correct?

Oh give me a break. Do people even listen to themselves when they say something to test just how ridiculous it might sound?

With interests in venomous species, it would benefit you more to support the selling/buying environments that do not discount or disregard your interest. There are many places and people that discriminate against your portion of the hobby. "Nobody should be keeping venomous species anyway." "Nobody should be keeping crocodilians anyway." "Nobody should be keeping large constrictors anyway." There are large portions of our own hobby that openly express themselves in this way, thinking that whatever their own interests are happen to be the reasonable choices and anything they do not fancy are the unreasonable choices that nobody should be keeping anyway. Then we reach the general public that thinks the adult length of a ball python is scary big. Anyway, you turn on yourself when you turn on a community of this kind that caters to your interests. It shrinks an already small pond.

Aside from the fact that the larger markets are very much against your sliver of the hobby, it is rich with actual scammers with no negative reviews or lots of top-star reviews. Often operating in partnership with other people to conceal known bad actor identities. This is not a point of blame for that marketplace, but is an area of weakness that bad actors continue to exploit. Meanwhile, what happened HERE is that you posted a contact method that steps outside of the site, then you blame the site as being full of scammers when they are actually not operating through the site the majority of the time. They are operating through an online point of vulnerability that you willingly exposed all on your own. You provided a direct line. Now you want someone else to take responsibility for that instead of you paying less than the cost of ONE lunch out for an entire YEAR of control over such things.

There is a value to using direct communication methods (I do), but having a PM system through the site adds a layer of protection for people who are not as skilled at weeding out vermin. This can also more efficiently connect them with real buyers and sellers, as it becomes a shallow screening tool right from the start.

It does not make any difference to me if you stay or go, but it makes a difference to you whether you admit this to yourself or not. Places like this, few and far between as they are, provide more benefit to the individual than they derive from the individual.
