    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

How do you get a giant toad to eat

I have this giant marine toad. When I bought it they told me it would eat crickets and meal worms. Since I feed my leos mealworms that was a no brainer but I cannot get it to eat. I bought crickets and it wont eat them either. Ive had it since easter and its getting skinny. What do I do.
 
Can you tell us a bit about your caging for it? what are the temps, humidity, hide spots, cage size and such....

Knowing this info may help.
 
He is still small about the size of a large houston toad. He is in a 10 gallon tank with 1inch bark mulch. He stays in tha waterbowl almost all the time.
 
Get some heat on him--a low wattage bulb on top of the cage, or an under tank heater. If using an UTH, use a thermostat with it, or you risk burning the frog. Get him some hide spots, several, in different parts of the tank, even slabs of bark (sterilized) will work, just prop them up SLIGHTLY on some rocks, just enough for him to be able to slide under the wood. He needs some place to disappear during the day so he feels secure and warmth so he can digest his food.

You are aware that these guys have some degree of toxicity to them, correct? Actually, that they can secrete a toxin? If not, let me know and I can post some links on them.
