    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

How do you give someone karma?

See the scales icon under your user name and basic info, the lower left next to the red/white "report post" icon.Mouse over it and it will hightlight Karma for user

I think that anyone can leave positive karma. If they haven't accumulated any karma points of their own, it'll be little more than a symbolic act, as they don't have any points to give.
 
Forward to today. I cannot leave karma. My scale icon is not where it used to be. Looking at all post of recent, no one has the scales for me to leave karma. Any ideas? I’m using my iPhone. It’s a 6s if that matters.

I am not sure neither. I just gave you + karma just to prove to you that things are working fine for me with the karma system. And I have not heard of anyone else having a problem with it.
 
And from this test account I set up, I was also able to utilize the karma system. If I had to hazard a guess, and based on the lack of evidence from anyone else having this problem, I would have to conclude that the problem is on your end. Not sure why nor how, but that is what the evidence at hand is telling me.

Yeah, the icon is not showing. I will have to wait on checking on a laptop. I don’t own one anymore. But my granddaughter has one and I’ll check.
But I certainly cannot give out karma. Not that it’s important, but I like to give when due. IMO.
 
Sorry, but as I have said before, I don't use mobile devices for my internet access and especially for working on my websites. I would go blind (well, blinder) staring at that tiny phone screen as much as I do my desktop screen. And forget about the keyboard chores on those tiny keys. Being a touch typists is pretty much wasted on those chiclet sized keys, and I am not a thumb only typist.

Besides, how many of those devices would I have to buy and maintain (as well as pay for the connectivity services) in order to keep up with everything all users here are using to access the site? This site is not bringing in that much money to be able to afford to do buy every possible device that people would want me to have to be able to support their specific problems. Heck, I don't even turn on the cell phone I have but a couple times a week. The few times I tried accessing the internet with it, I quickly decided it wasn't for me. Give me my 27" screen and full sized keyboard, please and thank you.

So I am not able to recreate such problems caused or, only exhibited by, mobile device usage to access this site, much less be able to do anything about them. I have my hands full dealing with server OS upgrades, changes, and issues enough as it is without compounding things with mobile device software changes.

How long do you think it would have taken me to type out even this one message just using the keyboard on a cell phone? Yeah....
