In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

What is the longest we can be patient about a leo's constipation? How long can they defy all laws of thermodynamics and keep that tummy filling in all day without emptying the bowels (in spite of the fact we've been feeding on crickets and mealwortms daily), before we rush it to the vet?

I mean, they're not prone to caged dementia like dogs who end up eating their poop, are they?:eek3:

What is rational and safe to do here?

Wanda

Are you sure they aren't playing

hide the pooh? Mine sometimes pooh in a different place than where they usually go just to keep me on my toes. Do a good look around to make sure you didn't miss anything. If they are constipated you might want to think about the possibility of impaction. What substrate are ya using? You could also go ahead and do a warm water bath (bathe the gecko that is) for 15 - 20 minutes a day for a couple of days to see if that helps move things along. Let us know how it comes out...:D

Hehehe You guys are worse than I am.

She is on a paper towel, and is not playing scavenger hunt with me. She is in a tank small enough for me to discover treasures easily.

I'm kind of afraid of bathing her, but can try it carefully. So the good ol' olive oil would do no good here (or in there):bleep:?

Well i've never hear about anyone feeding olive oil to leos, but if you wanted to be experemental, you could try rolling a few mealworms in super pure olive oil, and see if it works (but you might want to make sure it isnt going to have any other effects...read: dont blame me if it dosent work!) its all natural so it "should" be ok.

also, take a look at their under side, dose it look dark? and dose it feel hard? those are very common signs of bad constipation.

Yup, the right side is dark alright.

I made an appointment for Saturday. Could she keep eating OK and still pile it up in there without a pause? I mean, we aren't talking Kilauea here but, could it be worse if I keep feeding her to see if it pushes out anything?

Mineral Oil

The vet told me (when my leo was inpacted) to give her a small amount of mineral oil, you might want to try that.

U P D A T E

Never mind... we have gone... I repeat, we have taken a huge crap.. I mean... step towards our health improvement tonight!

I did not give her a warm bath, I did not want her to get freaked out and hate my guts. So I placed the little corner under her coconut where she was resting, on top of the heating pad. I turned the pad over, and boy all I needed was wait 15 minutes!!

So thanks to you all for helping me through the :toiletcla crisis!

I'm glad to hear everything came out okay!
I have a few Leos that like to hold it as long as they can and then when they do go.....wow....
