In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Would really like some input on how much I should be feeding my 6 mos old dragon. I know you should offer the greens through out the day. But I am not sure about the protein. He is a pretty good size boy for 6 mos ( at least I think so) but I am new at this. He is about 16 inches. I know with certain proteins, especially worms, you have to be careful not to over feed, or they will barf them back up. Is this true of crickets too? I know with the babies, it is said to let them eat as many as they will comsume for 10-15 minutes, 2 or 3 times a day. With my boy being in that in-between age of adult and baby. I am not sure. Any advise would be greatly appreciated :D

I am no expert but I leave zoomed mixed with greens in their bowl and dusted Krickets or Roaches every day maybe 5 little to medium crickets dusted in calcium dust a day? or a roach or 2 a day for protien?

Hi Doreen....don't let Shawn fool you..I'm just smart, not SUPER smart. Well, not even smart...just kind of been there, done that, haha ! You can really feed as many crickets as he will eat...the trick is not TOO late say, after 6-7 because lights go out soon and the heat from the lights is necessary to digest the food. Also, superworms are fine, and usually the only time they regurgitate them is when TOO many are given, especially if your dragon has never eaten them before. My dragon's have supers as a staple and every once in a great while, and I mean rarely,do any of them throw them up. That's usually if they gorge on 10-12 or so because I get a bit carried away. Even if they get sick,it's not an emergency, just give plenty to drink within the next day...they may not eat for a day or two [ kind of like us ] and then they get back on track. So,if superworms were not in your dragon's diet before, space the feedings out to twic daily, say 4-5 in the early part of the day, same later. Some beardies won't eat crix once they taste a delicious super, but some will eat both. Once he is fully accustomed to eating them, you can give more at one time. Remember too that any change in diet can result in unpleasant super-runny bowel movements !! So don't freak if you see that,it will should. back to normal in a few days

Ok, Thanks Angie, that really helps me. I have been giving him mostly crickets, and a few superworms (to get him use to eating them), he seems to have quite the appetite. He eats any protein I give him and most of his greens. So it sounds like what I am doing is good, just need to feed him a little more protein. I just wanted to make sure it was ok to give him a little more. I will increase slowly as not to upset his system. He seems to always eat his left over greens first thing in the morning when he gets up. Then after he has been basking for a couple of hours I give him his protein and fresh greens for the day. He eats his protein right away, then eats most of his greens later in the day. He always goes poo at about the same time everyday, so I guess we are getting a routine down. Thanks for your help, it reassures me tremendously :) Doreen
