    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

i was wondering before i buy a beardie is how to feed the beardie those crickets and insects because it seems complicated, like the insects will be jumping around while ill be trying to get it in the tank, and how do beardies act and how are they for a starter reptile because this will be my first reptile and im not so sure im comfortable with feeding it thoe insects. so if any one had related problems before they bought their beardie please HELP!!
 
Put 'bearded dragon' into your search. Spend about 3 hours reading whatever comes up; THEN come ask some questions- everyone has to begin somewhere and we are glad to have you, but do a bit of reading first.
 
i juz got a baby berdie about 2 weeks or so ago their ok startr pets not 2 much work depending on age/size they will have diff eating habits babies=90% crickets 10% vegies(letuce,carots,etc) adults=90%vegies 10% crickets and try not 2 feed them any largr then 2/3 the size of their head. depending on age u must mist the dragon for babies 1 time a day and for adults twice a week ur gunna need a UVB light and a heat lite u need 3 parts of the cage 1 = 90 to 100 degrees 1 80 to 90 and the othr 70ish they will go crazy for crickets or roaches or meal worms etc make sure their vegies dont get brown it can cause desieses if they eat it, do not put a adult wit a baby in the same cage do not put 2 males in the same cage but 2 females generally ok some say keep a watr bowel in their cage some say no they most likely wont drink from it till latr but still i keep 1 in their so he can get used 2 it the babies shuld be handled daily(only if atleast 4 weeks) if u want it 2 be freindly as a adult latr on u can walk on a leash or let it juz chill and lounge around the house.do not use heat rocks or pads

Thats actually not correct. I would say a ratio of 50/50 would be much more suited to youngsters giving them a better start. This also gets them used to eating a more nutrional diet right from the get go. Some people have even suggest the ratio should be higher! As for the lettuce!!!! Thats a STRICT NO NO!!! PERIOD! Once again LETTUCE IS DEVOID OF ANY NUTRIONAL VALUE!!!! Use a green mix of Kale,Mustard and Collard greens or any green that has at least a 2 to 1 calcium to phosphurus ratio. As for hydration a dripping system will quickly teach Beardies to drink from a dish. Simply poke a small pin hole into a container such as a water bottle or plastic cup and suspend this over a dish so that the water drips into it causing motion. The beardie will be attracted to the motion and very soon learn to drink from the dish. Hope this helps you out.
