In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

How was Hamburg for everyone?

I hope everone that got to go had a good time. One of these days I'll make it there. I know that my friend managed to pick up a beautiful hypo female for me. I'll be finding out this afternoon what else he picked up for me. How about some pics of what everyone got?

At this moment, I am regretting not purchasing a few things. A family "crisis" prevented me from attending White Plains this morning (I had a table...well, half a table) and left me rather cranky, lol. I did buy 6 pixie frogs - I was planning on putting a few on my table, but I like having them around anyway.

I thought the show was much better than the last one. It was less crowed and seemed to have more leos.

Anyways, I got a beatiful hybino het raptor from Pat, 4 viper geckos, and imo my best deal a used hovabator for 10 bucks (its working perfectly so far). Pics coming soon.

disappointed

i had never been to the hamburg show and overall i would have to say that it wasn't as good as i have heard. most people i know raved about it after they went but to me it was just a wasted drive. don't get me wrong they had some cool stuff but very few people that i was attempting to deal with were not trying to cut any deals or really even talk to you at all. it just really didn't live up to my expectations.

I have to agree with that for the most part. Some vendors seem to look at the customers as more of a nuisance than anything else. I prefer to do business with someone that at the very least has a smile or a polite hello for me. I'm a shy, quiet person by nature so I was definitely appreciative of the few vendors that chose to strike up a conversation and make me feel like an equal. My biggest complaint is probably when vendors don't put a price on their animals. If you don't care enough to put a price on something, I'd rather move on to someone else that DID feel the need to take that extra 10 seconds to do it. Overall I was happy with the show though.

I totally agree w/ everything you said above. If they don't label the animals with prices and/or animal ID, I serioulsy doubt I'd buy anything from them. That is just super lazy. (like the table near the back corner...on the venomous side of the building.) I am shy too, and enjoyed talking with some of the friendly vendors.

well i got my pacman frog from my friend. he is so cute and about the size of a quarter. my hypo female however turned out to be a beautiful hypo male. i go to admire and turn him over and there are the enlarged pores and the 2 small hemipenal bulges. now i must hunt for a nice female and an incubator. no pics sorry, my camera's busted.

Here are a few pics of my new guy..sorry about the poor quality but my cell phone is my only digi cam at the moment. It's a baby male green conda.

I agree only with a differnt convention, lee watsons conventio. This one guy i bought a mouse from, 50 cents, i give him a single and he gives me the mouse and says "i dont have change for your 5 so go buy somthing else and get change the jsut pay me" i was so angry because i didnt feel like spending any other money!! So i had to buy 4.50 in pinkies from this guy :hot: :hot: :hot: :hot: :hot: I know its not alot, i just thought i was incredibly rude.

yeah that is very rude. guess the question should be if he was selling why didnt he have change I would have gone some place else.

LOL there were a few reasons, 1 he spent all this time packaging the mouse, 2 he was old, 3 had no teeth, and 4 i was just p;lain old confused. And i guess 5 6 7 8 9 could be he freaked me out too :bawling:

Isn't it like.. a general rule of thumb when you go to a show make A LOT of change to make a sale.
I honest to god don't understand how these vendors are becoming rude. Without customer support your sales go away. And they seem to funnel towards those welcoming smiles that certain vendors remember to bring with them. Oh well... survival of the fittest business man/woman style I suppose. :raspberry

As a sometimes vendor, I managed to forget to bring change (small bills) once. I ended up repricing my animals to minimize the need...and have made a point of having $400 in small bills expressly for the purpose of making change ever since. (Since I use whole dollar pricing, I don't have to bother with coins)
