In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I'm not realy new, I just had issues with my old log on so I started over. I was blueselaphe and now I am new and improved as bluesbayou, my company name. My day job is as a Marine infantryman where I am a Gunnery Sgt. ( E-7 ). I have 7 years until I retire ( at age 38). I just learned 2 important things. One, I learned how to work this forum. Two, I learned I don't like French truffles. I will continue to learn new things as I read the posts. I have a wife who has a disslike for most reptiles yet takes the best care of them when I deploy to points unknown around the world. She is infact a godess for that reason alone. I also have two children, a step-daughter who fancies the frogs and a son who likes crocs and dancing. I work with as many different animals as I can. My true love is snakes but I also work with turts/torts, and anything with four legs, scales or fur. I like and understand most of the humor here so I am comfortable with criticism and jesting. I won't be selling on here for a few more years but in the event you read this in say, 2009 and want to see if I am a good guy or not I was on all other sites as blueselaphe. Well, that's me in a nut shell ( I don't have pics of me in a nut shell but I can get them if you wish). Thanks for stopping by.

oh, I'm not in Ohio anymore.. I am in Iraq for now, but I live in NCnow.. Guess I still need to do more work on this thing...:)

Welcome to Fauna!

What kind of snakes / animals do you keep right now?

I hope you stay safe in Iraq, and are reunited with your family soon! :)

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

p.s., you can go to USER CP, then click EDIT PROFILE and change your location there!

Welcome Blue. We are glad you are here, and I for one thank you for being there, in the service of our country, it must be difficult being so far away and I appreciate your sacrifice.

Hi, I remember seeing that name floating around. Maybe you should have taken "bluespantherophis".

Anyway welcome to fauna. If you need to change your location you can click on the UserCP tab on the bar above, then go into the edit profile and you can change it there. Just make sure to hit the save changes at the bottom of the page.

Should have read the post by ms_terese. She already told you how to change that.

And I agree stay safe over there. I have a few friends that were deployed and I'm sure glad their back safe. But then again they want to go back to help keep others safe.

Gunny,

As a retired Navy Chief who spent more Christmas's deployed than I want to remember, I want to wish you a merry Christmas, and to let you know the country supports you! I hope your deployment is short and boring.

Hi guys,
Thanx! Oddly enough this is my first Christmas away from the wife. I've been in for 13 years, married 10 and deployed ( in the Marines anything over 6 months is deployed) 4 times. I guess I just lucked out! Bill two of those were as a guest on y'alls ships. Tortuga and Kersearge. In my line of work boring is a good thing! I'm an avid reader here but I'll chime in when I think I need too... I am new to snakes, 15 years or so with rat snakes and 10 or so with boas and pythons.. Then again, I will always be new to them because I learn something new all the time!! That's why I like the forums! I should be home next month unless the boss does something kookie. Thanks again, Blue

Howdy again,
A few of y'all have tried to PM me in the past few days. Sorry, I won't be able to do the PM thing until the end of Jan (thats when I'll be HOME!!) Although it scares the day-lights out of me here (the ping noise my computer makes) I'm sure it will be a fun feature when I get back to a real internet connection with out government controls (for the most part..). Thanks again, the thought of getting PM shows me some love, unless you were writing me to tell me I'm an idiot... then I would feel sad... I'm not saying you'd be wrong, I'd just be sad.. :)
