Hypo?............Ghost?.............Help?

I've seen these names and never thought much about them........ Till I seen some of the combos coming out. My question is are they the same morph just different lines or are they completely different morphs? Little lost here. Someone save me from mny ignorance.

I have always treated them as the same. But in the hypo/ghost lines there are many. So you may not be lucky in breeding as I have seen when you pick up 2 different lines.

Yeah someone told me that orange ghost and yellow ghost are not compatable, not sure if this is true or not.

I know a breeder on here who says all the lines are compatible and his line works with them all

technically hypo/orange ghost "is" the same thing. A true ghost is a double ress.
(Axanthic X Hypo) that looks nothing like an "orange ghost"

an orange ghost is a hypo somebody just decided to give it a fancy name IMO, as far as lines go I have heard the same. Not all lines are compatible.

does any one know what lines are compatible,or how do we find out.
I have a pastel(het ghost female)and a ghost male how would i know if the are compatable.

Green and the butterscotch ghost/hypo are only compatable with their respective lines. Some orange has been successfully matched to other lesser known lines (ie: NERD OG to WC Ghost) When dealing with recc genes it's always best to find out as much as you can before purchasing from the breeder. This is just my inexperienced take on the subject.

I have one that was sold just as a hypo. In his description to me, The parents were a Green ghost male to a het orange ghost female. I can't tell you for sure what lines are compatible, but I will suggest that you ask your breeder what IS compatible with their line. My guess is with all the different descriptions out there, that there are a lot of colors that have been interchanged. My female looks different than some of ones I have seen in person, so I don't know if it is just a higher quality or is she a Green ghost or Orange ghost.

I have Brian Sharp Line Butterscotch Hypos and they are compatible with all other mainstream lines.

The problem with the Hypo Names is importers get WC Hypos (probably the most imported Morph of all time) in and call them OG, Butterscotch, etc when that's not what they really are...NERD's Hypos are the Original Orange Ghost and if you don't have his line Hypos they technically aren't Orange Ghost...


So at this point the names are moot...Just make sure when buying a Hypo you ask if it is compatible with other mainstream lines and ask if Hypos have been produced with out line breeding.
