In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I feel so bad.

I pulled a bonehead move recently too...

Jodi,

I dropped my Mack codom snow incubator box about two weeks ago with about 40-50 eggs, some of those eggs were within days of hatching. Vermiculite and eggs all over the floor, eggs flying across the room...and my cat was batting the eggs around on the floor to top it off! But so far so good, they have continued to hatch on schedule. Fortunately I mark the top of the eggs so they all got back into the right position within minutes.

I dropped a box of crested eggs a few years ago and those were unmarked. After that mistake I mark all my eggs.

Let us know what happens with those eggs, be sure to dissect any that don't hatch. It will be interesting to see the results, I think eggs can handle more abuse than we think.

Regards,

Steve Sykes

Jodi,
Sorry to hear about that and I hope they turn out fine. To let you know the pair of cresteds I got from you the first 2 eggs hatched a week ago. I was worried one of them wouldn't because around day 35 I noticed one of the eggs had some how flipped over on the marked side. I think that egg was even the first one to hatch.

So sorry to hear about this. My fingers are crossed that they're all okay. Hopefully you can get a little relief hearing that other people have had similar experiences. Hang in there!

I agree with Steve because when I have had eggs flipped from hatchlings before they still hatched as long as they were re-positioned. As long as the fall was cushioned, they should be fine. Good luck and I hope all the eggs hatch!

Glad to hear that they are hatching for you. Here's hoping the rest are just fine.

update

Thanks for the update, Jodi. It's a shame about the 3 lost ones, but I have a hunch the vast majority of the little gecko-lings will come out without any problems... call it intuition(?) You have everyone's 100% support, so please keep us posted!

Wow Jodi thats tough, Glad to hear the seem to be doing okay, except for those 3. I hope all the rest do all right for you.

Just something I noticed in this thread and see happen quite a bit. Please don't take offense my intent is to show how you both worked this misunderstanding out without it getting blown out of proportion. That is not always the case. I saw this as a good example of how things can be misunderstood. Also that it can be solved if both are willing to correct it, as you two were.
Witeleo said:
Sorry to hear that though. Don't feel bad.
And Jodi heard:
Witeleo,You said dont feel bad.
i am so glad Witeleo cleared that up by explaining:
Sorry.

I was trying to let you know that these eggs can take alot of crap.

With knowing that, you know they still have a good chance at hatching. Even if you still feel bad about the little guys fall, you should feel a little bit better knowing they have a good chance.

Isn't it amazing how easy it is to misunderstand the written word when we can't hear the tone and cadence of the statement or see the persons facial expressions and body language.
