    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Well, I am not sure if this is in the right forum, but... there's just too many!!!
Any way, I had a very weird day today, It all started when I came back from the doctor. I went upstairs to check on 2 of my favorite ball pythons, a male albino named Jet Li and a normal male named JJ . They were in the same cage because one of my uth's broke. I know it's not a good idea, but I had no other choice because feeding day was Thursday. So as I was saying, I went upstairs checked and ONLY ONE WAS THERE!!! I was calm for a minute then I started swearing, then I paniced and started to cry (I'm such a big baby, I know). 2 hours later I though... I have to go to the pet store to make myself feel better. I went, bought $46 worth of stuff and then I went to the reptile section. I saw the cutest little head ever.. staring at me. It was a baby garter snake (checkered?), hey, they were $10 so I took one. He made my day, kind of.. So I went to my room to get him in his little enclosure and then I see Jet Li looking at me from the side of my rack... I was happy again... but I feel stupid because I paniced very quickly and withough thinking I got another snake which I was not expecting... Oh well, I'll post pics when I charge my camera... :)

Those things are pretty good escape artists, and they are way stronger and more persistent than you'd think. Definitely have to keep those cages secured. Really glad you found it though.

yeah, I know a guy that had 40 pounds on top of his adult bp's cage but it still got out...
I don't know how mine got out... especially that he's so young. I definitely learned my lesson.

I kept my 10'+ Burm in with a top I custom built from 2x4's and chicken wire and held down with 12 x-large tank clips...NEVER an escape!

interesting - harboring illegal snakes and bragging about it online, lol
Though I suppose (since it was kept) it could have been another time...another place.

This was well before the strict ban. The snake was purchased in the early-mid 90's. Only keeping a Skink these days as I now have young children at home. :)

Actually, they were illegal in NYC then, too, not that it matters now...I was aware of the law as early as 1992. It wasn't a species ban, as now exists statewide, though. It was based on size (6 ft seems to ring a bell, but it has been a long time since I looked at it)

Interestingly enough, at the time I purchased it as a neonate from a local and well know pet store. They also had on display (for $50 bucks no less!) a 12 foot wild caught afrock and a hatchling green annie.
