    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Thanks for letting me know. I just unfriended him. No need letting scammers drool over the stuff I have.

This "winner" is on facebook chastising someone for sending the wrong sex snake. He is over there telling them to "do the right thing". So I ask the OP, has this guy done the right thing for you yet? Or is he just another hypocrite?

Randy is a liar. And no he has not done the right thing. In fact, he just asked me via text LAST WEEK if we want to 'switch back'.....but he said he would not ship first. And when I said hell no I wasn't going to ship at the same time he said it was because I sold the female black pastel. Does he think I am an IDIOT???? :NoNo:#1 he doesn't even HAVE my bumble bee anymore. And #2 yes, I still have his MALE back pastel (he STILL is going to sit here and claim he sent me a female...REALLY???) and I wouldn't put that snake back in his care for ANYTHING. He is UNBELIEVABLE.

He said he would send me $200 to make up for the difference in the bad trade deal but I have not seen a dime. He is a liar and a scammer. It would have been great for him to hold true to his word, but no, he doesn't know how right his wrong. He has no clue how to man up and do the right thing. And to think i was actually going to give him a chance to fix this....what was I thinking? :shrug01::shrug01::shrug01:

UPDATE: RECEIVED PAYEMENT

Hey everyone, just an update to my situation with Randy. I have been corresponding via text with his wife Jen. She apologized over and over for the situation and she said she would send me $200 to make up the difference for the black pastel male. I want to go on record to say she did hold true to her word, and she did send me the $200 via Paypal. I received the full payment today. I can't thank her enough for being rational and fair and making this right. I wish it would have never happened in the first place, it definately taught me to be more careful online and esp here on fauna. I am really no longer doing business on fauna as far as buying--i am trying to find local people to buy from, and trading/buying with friends I have met across the country. It really is difficult to pursue a hobby in ball python morphs and only be able to buy locally for fear of being scammed....but I have met quite a few breeders whom i now trust and have also met some really good friends who i plan on doing much business with in the future. I hope this was a lesson to everyone, and I do hope that people continue to expose scammers so the rest of us can beware....and keep our reptile community full of honest and truthful breeders, buyers, and sellers.
 
So where was Randy during all of this? Was he involved at all or was it just his wife cleaning up his mess? Either way im really glad you finally got some compensation for this. Too bad you had to go through hell to get it. In all honesty if he would have sent 500.00 it wouldn't have convinced me to do business with him but at least you got something.

I am sorry about your situation and glad it is somewhat resolved, but you cannot blame Fauna because you chose to do business with someone without a reputation. There are plenty of good people on here with established reputations as great sellers and have worked hard to achieve this. Next time, I would better choose with you deal with than writing everyone off.

Oh trust me it took many threats to call his probation officer and stick my attorney on him before his wife/girlfriend decided to (smartfully) step in and make things right to avoid her man going back to jail or back on probation due to being charged with another felony. I wish I could say Randy is truely sorry but I don't think he is. I think his poor wife/girlfriend is a very decent person and deserves much better than a man (and father apparently they have a kid) like Randy. But then again...who's not to say offline (out of the reptile world) he's not a decent individual.

Whoa who said I blamed fauna?? do NOT put words in my mouth....I NEVER blamed fauna for this....but I did state that I found Randy on fauna, and that nothing was posted about him being a scammer, and I fell to his scam. I am not blaming fauna at all actually a month after that I did high dollar business with a couple other breeders on here and had wonderful transactions so don't tell me I "wrote everyone off" because I most certainly did NOT.

It's just ashame that people can get on websites like these (again, not singling out fauna, this is no difference than craigslist, kingsnake, or any of the other classified websites) and lie about their name, make a new account when they get negative feedback on their other account, etc.

I also think it really is sad to come on here as a victim and have to deal with people like you putting words in my mouth and making me feel like I was the person who did wrong for trusting someone. Thanks, that really helps. :rolleyes:

It sounds like you won't buy online ("esp here on fauna") for fear of being scammed. I'm not putting words in your mouth ... maybe your words came out wrong?

Again, I was trying to give you helpful advice on not buying from people that cannot provide references. There are plenty of people in here whom I have never met that I would trust my house with. No one can ever seem to find the BOI until something goes wrong.

I'm sorry you feel that way. Maybe you missed a few pages back where I was trying to help you get your situation righted, or maybe the PM I got this morning from one of Randy's prospective buyers that I helped steer in another direction. You don't seem very keen on accepting criticism which may have prevented this whole situation from the get go. Take it from someone who's been the "victim" more than you on Fauna, Randy isn't the only person to blame for this situation, and if you can't accept that, you have learned nothing.

Sorry if you took it the wrong way, which obviously you did. I never blamed fauna...but yes I did say that I will be more careful, especially here on fauna where I was doing 99% of my ball python shopping. I never once said fauna is to blame for this. I don't seem keen on accepting criticism? that's because I'm not keen on it when I have been through hell and back with snakes over the last couple months and I don't need to be beaten down anymore for my MISTAKE in trusting someone I shouldn't have. Sorry I didn't personally know you before and I wasn't able to PM you to ask for advice. and just FYI..the VAST MAJORITY of the ads I look at on fauna the people have NO trader rating and there have been SEVEN people I have looked up on the BOI and have found NOTHING. So don't tell me that the BOI is a cure-all for this type of situation because it's not.

And I never said Randy is the only one to blame, wow you're batting a thousand on making me feel even more like crap. Thanks. :thumbsup:
 
Then why do you refuse to buy from anyone on here any more? That's the only thing I was trying to help you with LOL! This place consists of more than just scammers. Not only are there plenty of good sellers, but you are now refusing to buy from people that went on a limb to help you in this thread. I understand you are probably just still pissed and if that's your decision then fine, but in doing so, I just wanted to make it clear you are writing off good people at the same time. Making you feel like crap isn't in my intentions.
 
I think the point she was trying to make is that problems can be addressed easier when you deal with someone face to face. If the same scam would have been tried at a show or a local shop or breeder, there would have been no denying that what he was trying to trade was a male under weight of what he had posted. I think she should do what she is most comfortable with. Maybe later she will make some friends here and do more trading.
You can't blame someone who survives a plane crash to not be a little leery of taking another ride, even if it's a very good airline and you are one great pilot. Maybe after some time....
