In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I don't care, that Anole can eat when Daddy gets home later, or not. I HATE those stupid Crickets!!!! One just got lose! Stupid pathetic jumper! They are SO sick, I HATE insects!!!! I sit here on the puter, and all I can ever hear are those stupid things jumping, and scattering, and they EAT eachother!! Their Satan, and I hate them!!!!!!!!! I can't stand bugs!! He even hoped away from me when I tried steping on him! Now I bet thats a prego girl, and their gonna be all over the place! I'll move out!!!!!!! I'll go sleep in the car!!!!!!!! No more feeding his lizards for me! EVER!!!! EWWWW!!!!!!!!! UGHHH!!!!!!!!!! Freakin things with shells!!!! Sorry, just had to vent. :( :ack2:

Got Him!

:dgrin: 5 minutes after I made that post he came out to open floor! BIG mistake!! :reddevil: It took me three times but I finally got him under my shoe! There allowed in the tank, but not running through my house! Don't worry theres still like 80 some in there! They are SO nasty! I'm going to work, and Jeff and me are gonna figure a daily schedule between us, because I am NOT feeding anymore! I almost had a heart attack!

ummm, don't know if your talking about an anole or leopard gecko (as this is the leopard gecko forum) but 80 crickets in a cage as feeders is definately not a good idea, as they may decide that your lizard (whatever it is) looks good enough to eat...

No, No, No. I was talking about the Anole. I know this is Gecko Forum, it was kinda related, as in I ain't feeding anymore! I don't hate either of them! Our Leopard Gecko Gex I love him to death. Just have major bug phobia. This is the first one that got lose on me, probably because I was being skidish. My Fiancee and myself work different schedules sometimes. I don't know if he feed the Anole or not. Hes or daytime eater, Gex eats at night. I saw him workin on their tanks earlier. I'm just gonna have to tell him to make sure HE feeds them. If I tried to go back and catch a Cricket right now, it'd probably get lose again or something and then I WOULD have a heart attack. I'm sorry. Just had to vent that one out. I like my rodents better when it comes to feeding. :bawling: I love Gexie, and Picolo, but I can't feed em! :bawling:

The Crickets have their own 20 gallon tank. Thats the tank I'm not messing with anymore. Gex, and Picolo, and Jakers all have their own tanks.

Jeff and I have been together for almost four years! :) All of the animals are "ours." We love them all! But by all due technicality, and Jeff and I have talked about this. If we break up Gex, and Picolo go with him, and Jakers goes with me. Jake was the only one that I bought. Jeff doesn't have an insect phobia, he can pick them up and hold them, and do what ever needs done. I've been helping him with the Crickets. This was my first incident. I have no problem catching them, but I can't phsically touch them. I've cleaned them, feed them, caught them, but thats as far as it goes. I love my Fiancee anyway, and I hope that we are together always! :) If I was on my own though, I can't say that I WOULD actually buy a bug eating animal. Wich would suck because Gex is awesome and I love him to death! We are going to get more Geckos before more Snakes. Their to cute! Jeff bought Gex, and he was a Juvi, set is his ways with his Crickets. We tried mealworms but it didn't work. Its actually funny he has no problem with insects and I do, but when it came to trying the mealworms he couldn't touch them! LOL I had more experience with worms. I was used to them from going fishing. I know a lot of girls that won't hook their own worms, but I can! Its funny!! I laughed at Jeff so bad for not liking the little worms! Anywayz that explains it. :)

Do you put food and water in with the crickets?
They are less inclined to eat each other when they are provided with food and a moisture source.

They are gutloaded with Flukers gutload, and drink Flukers thirst quencher, calcium fortified. Its this weird yellow gel.

ew, no flukers, fluker is baddddd for gutload. Use cricketfood.com, best stuff on the market, gary's been getting fatter by the day since i've switched :D

I know. I read that calciaum discussion here. I have no car, and what a waste of money. We are gonna use this up, and then never buy it again!

And yet without insects, humans wouldn't be able to survive. We rely too heavily on them agriculturally and economically.

Sorry

I'm sorry. I didn't mean any offense to people who like bugs. There are a ton of people who don't like my Snake, but if you think about it there are even more who don't like bugs. I understand how you feel, and I agree we need them.....but not me. Things with shells just aren't for me. At least on me. Being a country girl I am pretty kool about most things. I like Praying Mantis's, and I have held Tarantulas, and I like Daddy Long Leg Spiders, no problem with Bats, Snakes, Lizards.....etc.

I wasn't really skidish about a lot of bugs until I was about 15. I can actually pin point the start of it. I was 15 living in a complex system in a small town, and one summer it was really hot, we had no air conditioner, so we kept windows open. I don't know why this happened but it did. June Bugs, the brown crunchy bugs. We had an infestation!!! BAD!! You literally couldn't walk out at night without stepping on four with one foot, at one time! I slept with windows open so I could actually sleep. It got that hot! They were absolutley everywhere, and I slept with them having no choice. I had 20 to 30 in my room at any given time at night. I have been freaked out ever since. I was stung by a bee on the foot at a park when I was little. (Not so bad.) Getting stung right in the butt cheek by a Wasp, now that HURT! I had the fatest black beetle get caught in my pony tail, and crawl around my scalp for awhile until I felt something and my Mom check my hair. It was HUGE!

Then theres THE weirdest bug I have EVER seen, literally! Lived in Ohio my whole life, gone many country places and never saw this until I moved in this apartment almost two years ago. Living in the same town I've almost always lived in. We didn't even know what it was last summer, and did some research and found out it was some kind of house centipede? Looks like a cetipede except darker, has all the legs, huge antennas, and it eats other bugs that are like 10 times its size, wich I have never seen. Its already pretty big, but we watched one eat a big Grasshoper, and a really big Spider all in one night. Those really long antennas helped it hunt. It was weird. My Fiancee says he will get me to stick my hand in the Cricket tank and let them run on my hand one of these days. I'm not to sure about that, and thats why.

LOL This may sound weird but I am a bug freak! I absolutely love them! I can be entertained for hours on end outside hunting for bugs. They fascinate me. They are like little robots...All with a purpose. I get very excited when I find one I have never seen before and have to look it up and learn about it. OK now I have convinced everyone here that I am nuts...Oh well! Go ahead Point and laugh!

I'm OK with bugs that have 4 or less legs... those spiders and centipedes though... (shivers). Mealworms never really bothered me much though as they're small.

As much as I miss all my leos, I'm really liking the non-live food aspects of rhacodactylus. No gut-loading, no chirping, no ordering more every week, no calcium dusting, no escapees, no smell, and no extra cleaning... it's really kind of nice!

4 legs? LOL ... that rules out a lot!

Funny enough, I hate June bugs too!! Stupid things...always flying straight into stuff.
