Sorry
I'm sorry. I didn't mean any offense to people who like bugs. There are a ton of people who don't like my Snake, but if you think about it there are even more who don't like bugs. I understand how you feel, and I agree we need them.....but not me. Things with shells just aren't for me. At least on me. Being a country girl I am pretty kool about most things. I like Praying Mantis's, and I have held Tarantulas, and I like Daddy Long Leg Spiders, no problem with Bats, Snakes, Lizards.....etc.
I wasn't really skidish about a lot of bugs until I was about 15. I can actually pin point the start of it. I was 15 living in a complex system in a small town, and one summer it was really hot, we had no air conditioner, so we kept windows open. I don't know why this happened but it did. June Bugs, the brown crunchy bugs. We had an infestation!!! BAD!! You literally couldn't walk out at night without stepping on four with one foot, at one time! I slept with windows open so I could actually sleep. It got that hot! They were absolutley everywhere, and I slept with them having no choice. I had 20 to 30 in my room at any given time at night. I have been freaked out ever since. I was stung by a bee on the foot at a park when I was little. (Not so bad.) Getting stung right in the butt cheek by a Wasp, now that HURT! I had the fatest black beetle get caught in my pony tail, and crawl around my scalp for awhile until I felt something and my Mom check my hair. It was HUGE!
Then theres THE weirdest bug I have EVER seen, literally! Lived in Ohio my whole life, gone many country places and never saw this until I moved in this apartment almost two years ago. Living in the same town I've almost always lived in. We didn't even know what it was last summer, and did some research and found out it was some kind of house centipede? Looks like a cetipede except darker, has all the legs, huge antennas, and it eats other bugs that are like 10 times its size, wich I have never seen. Its already pretty big, but we watched one eat a big Grasshoper, and a really big Spider all in one night. Those really long antennas helped it hunt. It was weird. My Fiancee says he will get me to stick my hand in the Cricket tank and let them run on my hand one of these days. I'm not to sure about that, and thats why.
