In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Well I seriously can't choose : adopt a Nic. boa.. (only $20!) or go to Hamburg show and get something there like a corn snake or some gecko.. I'm not sure if this will help I just want to know what you guys think. My mom said Hamburg and her friends said Boa... :shrug01:

I voted Boa because adopting is always great. I would definitely quarantine the animal for an extended period of time seeing as you don't know how the animal was kept or what it was exposed to previously.
Unless you want a corn snake or a leopard gecko. In which case go with the show.
Good luck with your new baby! Post pics when you decide.

I like aggresive snakes... He might help me get bitten more (Yes, I'm a weirdo..) And with the fact I hadle each of my snakes regurarly he might calm down.

Sorry, I voted Hamburg.
Nics have a reputation for being nippy. I doubt he'll calm down.
But if you're OK w/that, by all means, save a snake. :D

It really does depend on what you want...if you want a boa, then adopting a boa is a good option. If you didn't really have any real desire to own a boa before, and are considering it only because it is $20, pass on it and shop around for what you want.

Things to keep in mind - boas are a bit harder to maintain than colubrids (higher temp & humidity requirements), Nicaraguan boas are known for being nippy (and you are being told in advance that this one has an attitude and bites), rescue animals often have issues & need considerable work, dealing with a pi$$y snake can get old fast (especially as they get bigger)

You're right.. and I wouldn't have any one to help me if something bad happens.. as my mom is afraid of a little gecko, imagine what she would do when it bites me or her. Not good. But then I really like boas and it's a really good deal... I'm having second thoughts.

After reading your ramblings, it is probably best for you, your mother, and the boa, if you do not own any pets in the near future.

and with proper education and time, she can learn to care for any species she would like to keep.

Don't worry. I'll have many pets in the future. I'm just trying to make a good decision. So, live with it.

Sorry, I didn't get up this morning thinking "I'm going to be mean to a child today."

Not everything I say is always "nice", but I call 'em as I see 'em. If that is too much for one's tender ego, then don't ask me a question.
