In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

i need ideas for convincing my wife

wow there's some really good ideas here....her biggest argument is that we are 40.000 in debt and we owe her parents money so she says if we have money for a snake its money we could give to her parents....

on another board someones sig says "i got a snake for my wife, i'll miss her but it's a nice snake" hehe

I hate to be the one that rains on this parade...but I have to say your wife is right. Getting another snake certainly does not fall into the NEEDS category. If you are $40,000 in debt AND part of that debt is to her parents, save yourself the headache and put the money toward the debt. It will be worth it, just to keep the peace in the family.

yeah that is true. im the same way.
lets switch the situation.

she comes home with a new computer. what do you say to her?
if her parents see they have loaned you money and your buying new snakes what is THAT going to say? if it was me i wouldnt get the snake. there are always going to be snakes. if i loaned you money and saw you got a new snake i would be asking for some money or wondering where you have cash for a $100+ snake but tell me you dont have cash to pay me back.

knowing more of your situation now i would advise AGAINST getting a snake. i probably have 4000 in bills between my wife and i and she wants to go on vacation or get a new bed with the tax return we just got (april 14th baby!) and i cant justify spending that cash when i have ALREADY SPENT IT. like she says, if you can afford the snake then you can take that cash and give it to her parents to show them you intend to pay them back instead of giving them a sob story of "we cant afford food or power or bills" and then your all of a sudden going out more.

if I was her father and saw that happening PERSONALLY, i wouldn't think too highly of you for a LOOOOOONNNNNGG TIME.

agreed :(

yeah,
I'm afraid i have to change my opinion on the subject. if your wife was just not wanting another snake in the house, I'd say work something out. But when you owe money, it's going to make you possibly look like a jerk for buying even an inexpensive snake that is not a neccessary buy.
nothing personal, but i just have done dumb things like that and had people get mad at me for being irresponsible.
For now, however, save a new BP as a celebratory present for yourself when you get out of debt.
again, good luck!
