In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I need more boas. I only have one right now. Great Gee hypo. Unfortunetly, I have potential plans to move to Bankok, Thailand by the end of this year, so it seems pointless to start a collection. Just wanted to share my frustration. I would love to get a couple hogs, a couple BCC's, an arabesque albino (a mate for my hypo), and possibly a couple silverbacks. Ah well...Priorities priorities. I would love to get some cats too...They are so calming to me.

Also, would this be the proper place to look for a temporary keeper of my hypo while I am gone from the country? It isn't now that I need somebody, but just wondering where the proper place would be. I'd be looking for someone who had some experience with breeding or at least someone with very good reputation intending to breed. He'd be offered as a breeder loaner (with full payment for food and shipping) even though he wouldn't be quite ready to breed till early '07. If anyone is potentially interested, please contact me. Like I said, it would be for some months (fall/winter of '06), but thought I'd start looking a little bit now.

Here are a couple shots of him. He is a extremely probable hypo and has been guaranteed as such. Fading and blushing saddles, very clean, no black tail rings, super bright tail, reduced mustache, reduced pattern, super clean sides, and also is highly abarrent on his neck.

Interesting! I've been looking for a male hypo for breeding purposes but my husband isn't agreeing with my wanting to get another snake (even though my breeding plans will require a male hypo, psssh, how can he ignore my breeding plans! ;) ) - Though my little girl ('05 hypo) won't be ready until at least winter '07... otherwise, I'd help you out! If you think you'll be gone that long, give me a shout. I plan on breeding my hog islands next fall if my 04 female looks like she's ready to, and that will be my first attempt at breeding. (My husband won't be able to argue against getting any extra snakes at that point - heh if they breed successfully we'll have lots of "new" snakes).

Most likely IF I make it to Thailand, I will be there for AT LEAST a year. That is the plan anyway. You know how life is.... I would PREFER to let someone keep him for breeding purposes, but this isn't required. I'm just not sure if someone would want to take care of him without the purpose of having some gain from it. Thailand isn't solid, but one thing is.. I will be out of Las Vegas and hopefully the country by year's end :) As it is now, this guy gets TONS of attention. He is held 2+ hours almost every day, so he is of great temperment. Probably the one thing I wouldn't want to do is loan him to somebody who has 50 other snakes. He is a pet to me, not just an investment. So I'd want someone who could hold him regularly etc... (not necessarily for 2 hours a day, but at least a few times a week for a bit) Thanks for your reply liquid leaf :) You'll be kept in mind.

Ok Chris. I'm adding anyone who's interested to my buddy list. Like I said before, I am looking for someone who is looking to breed boas. The nicer the planned female mate, the more apt I'll be to lean towards the person who owns her. But, the highest priority is someone who can spend time with him and handle him at least a few times a week for an hour or so and also someone who has good reputation with other people in the boa community. He is also my pet, so I want him to be as tame as possible as an older adult. Someone with large amounts of boas or other animals may not be able to devote that sort of time to him. Again, he isn't going to be loaned until end of summer at earliest, and won't be ready to breed until '07 (most likely). He is an 06/05.

You've only had the little fella for about 6 weeks...you had no inkling of these "potential plans" then? I understand that things can change quickly, but to be "solid" on the fact that you will be out of the country by the end of the year certainly sounds as if there has been due consideration. I don't know you from Adam, Damian, and I apologize for being a bit of a sceptic; but with all of the "social experiments" that have been on the threads in the not too distant past, it's good to see that everybody still jumps right out there, lol. If you are serious about the move, I wish you the best...and I am sure you will get at least a bunch of suitable candidates to choose from.
And Lauren, about the Hogs...I spoke with several of the big name breeders recently, and they pretty much all said the females should be at least 4 years of age (just an FYI)

Social expiriments? laughing...umm... Have no clue what you are talking about. So I'll just let that one go. Yes, I have been planning to leave the country for some time. And just because I lend this guy out doesn't mean I don't care about his well being or that I am not enjoying him now as a pet and most likely will in the future. I live for today, anything could happen tomorrow. Best laid plans of mice and men etc... So I wanted a boa, I got one. When I leave the country I will stop at no extent to make sure he has a good surrogate home for awhile... People offer snakes up for breeder loans all the time. Just because the terms are slightly different...well sorry if you've got some issue with that. But if you're not interested in borrowing him...rather not hear comments that have nothing to do with you.

:) I don't think Harald meant anything by it - there was a post in the Adoptions section where some jerk posted a bunch of expensive reptiles for free and had his buddies play pretend to write some very childish "I want those reptiles but don't know anything about them" replies and riled up a LOT of people who were worried about the welfare of those animals (which never existed, it was all a "social experiment" according to the guy who initially put up the adoption post)....

That's what he was referring to I believe. The post made a lot of people upset and a little touchy - not your fault but makes everybody wary at an animal giveaway (I know you're not giving away or selling your boa but you get the picture).

I was not accusing you of anything, Damian. Actually, I had intended another post which clarified that...but more important callings prevailed. I also apologized in advance for my scepticism, so please take the rest of my previous post to heart:
I wish you the best...and I am sure you will get at least a bunch of suitable candidates to choose from.
Since from the sound of this, your arrangement will be for a considerably longer term than than the run of the mill breeding loan. As such, I would urge you to lay everything out on the Trade Audit and Review Board once you select a candidate. And don't worry, since I have absolutely no interest in borrowing him, you'll hear no further comment from me.

No hard feelings HH. Have been having some other stuff going on that preciprocated the harsh reply. I fully apologize.

For the record, Damian and I have exchanged a few PMs & I explained the background to some of my initial comments...and I offered to help with the terms of the "loan" agreement when the time comes.

I breed boas.. thats it, on weekends i display some of my animals at a small zoo where i do a venomous snake and alligator wrestling shows... all my animals are worked with daily...

i;m interested in how much one of those cost just an average
The prices vary with the quality - that particular one was a pretty good deal at $1200 (I know because he stated the price in another thread)
