In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I need opinions PLEASE!

I purchased these two "Females" back in November they were probably my second or third online purchase for ball pythons. Needless to say I never popped them until now! Male 1 I'm soooo in love with and 2 has grown on me. Well a friend of mine came over and we were going through my collection of balls which has grown to 32 snakes. When we got to these two he popped them and to my surprise they are BOTH male :-(. I have a few dinker males and I'm not sure how many I really want. I contacted the seller and he was just rude but I'm not gonna go there here!
Now I need opinions should I still take up space with these boys or sell them and recoup some lost money on them "turning male on me"? They didn't cost a lot It's more the space and food that I'm putting into them.
So opinions please!!!!!!!!!!!

Personally i think they're both very beautiful (Especially the second one) and would personally keep them, but that's just me. ^^
It is quite a set back since you were expecting females but they could probably make for some nice projects, but if you need the space for other females then you'd probably have better luck selling them. (If i wasn't completely broke i'd totally take the second one off your hands if you decided to sell them. Lol XD )

Oh man, I want the first one! How much were they 8D (I need another snake like i need a hole in my head, but man, they are pretty cool looking)

two questions:

is the seller reputable

do you have anything you really want to pair them to?

and if you do want to sell the first male, I'd be SO down to try to work something out (ie: paying food bills) If he made any pretty babies I'd be happy to send a girl your way XD

First, I would write a Bad Guy BOI on this seller if he isn't willing to refund even a small amount of what you paid. You paid for females, not males - so if he won't fix it he deserves a Bad Guy thread. IMO.

Personally I think the first male is HOT! I would have a hard time letting go of him

Seconded! I should have said that in my first post, but was too busy broswing your amazing photos. I really like that prop!

Number 1 is HOT, but number 2 makes me want to see what may be behind that mark on his head.

However, Abby and Casey hit it in that the seller deserves a BG thread and it wouldn't be wise to be raising the snakes if space and money were main constraints to keeping them.

BTW: Where did you find the prop? lol It's lovely!

Thanks for all the opinions so far. I guess I should clarify... I have the money to feed them and the space to house them I guess I'm wondering how many dinker projects people normally plan around males? I have my set projects and I had plans for these two as females the fact that they are males threw the wrench in my plans!

Lots of dinker projects are planned around males. It's just easier/quicker to prove out from a female dinker because she's already matured, and so it would only take approximately a year for a male from her clutch to be ready to put to her.

Whereas, in proving out a male, one has to wait for a female from the clutch to mature which is 2 to 3 years.

Thanks Deborah! I'm still young Ha Ha Ha :). I just did all my morning chores and I don't even know if I could actually part with them. I do get very attached to my animals so it seems like I just added two new dinker projects... One more question is it best to put them to a normal females? I think it is but I see in a lot of projects people using a morph to a dinker is my thinking off????
Thanks!

I would put them to normals, mainly because if you have a morph female who is breeding size and you put her to a dinker and the dinker doesn't prove - you basically "wasted" a female morph on a "normal" male that season. That's how I see it, anyway. :)

:iagree:

I agree with Abby, and want to add that proving out an animal is a series of steps to also determine if the genes are recessive or dominant, and Normals serve this purpose well because they don't "muddy" the gene pool.

I agree with everyone here. A BG thread is certainly deserved, whether you're now find with the idea that they're males. Also pair them with normal females as said.

If it were me I would be keeping them as dinker projects as well.

Ha ha, I totally do this too. Once I've had a snake for a month without plans to rehome it, it becomes part of the family ^^ If you produce any babies, male or female like #1, I will totally trade or buy one from you!!
