In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I need some help bad.

My mom has practically given up on me. I'm a junior in high school, and I'm struggling in school. I've been going to tutoring, but I just can't seem keep up with the pace. All my classmates can do the work so fast, and get A's and I work slow, and I end up getting a C or a D. As we speak, I am studying my ass off. It's very hard to keep up with school, play sports, and take care of my snakes for my upcoming breeding season. I wanna talk to my mom about it, but she really doesnt want to hear it from me, and I can't really get my words together. What exactly should I say to her? I have a plan, just can't put it into words.
Your advice is important, thank you for taking time to read this

I Algebra, there's nothing else you can do besides drill that stuff inside your head.

With English, have you every thought about bumping down to the regular English? When I was in High School, I took honors, and the only difference from that and the regular class was the honors gives more homework and moves way quicker.

If you are doing poorly in school, I can understand your mother's frustration. I'm not going to downplay the importance of other interests (sports, and reptiles, for example); however, school should be a priority....and if you are struggling, you really need to consider whether you are overextending yourself.
Some people are just not "A students"; but when I was in school, acceptable grades had to be maintained by any student participating in the sports programs. It was that simple.
Also, if you are struggling to keep your grades, do sports, and take care of your animals; breeding should probably be put on a back burner until things are more settled for you. It doesn't sound like adding a bunch of babies is your best interest right now.

That's the thing, ive only been able to get to them before i go to bed. i got 12 southern hognose eggs incubating and those are going to be a pain when those hatch out

Acknowledging that, perhaps you shouldn't have bred them....and it would probably be considered common sense to not add to the pain by doing more pairings this coming season (since your original post indicated you were getting ready for breeding season).

Best of luck with your animals, and your studies.

I agree with Stephen's idea of considering switching to a regular english class. English is a TOUGH class, especially if you have a tough teacher.

I also agree with Harald about the breeding...I think it was pretty irresponsible to breed your southern hognose snakes, knowing that there's so much other stuff that takes up most of your time.

Thank you all, I will be working out a new schedule so that everything can work out. School will be put first. I dont know how to close or delete this thread, but thank you all who responded. And actually the eggs came from a wc gravid female, but thank you all

First thing first. No matter how much we love reptiles, school always comes first. It sounds like you have a lot of things on your plate and not all of it is needed such as the sports and reptiles. I know how you feel, about the math and english studies. I just graduated in 2007 and I had a tough time with math. I was an A student in science and history but math, I failed at horribly. To me, math is way harder then english. You just need to take a deep breath and figure out a schedule that works for you.

If you want to drop sports or reptiles for a little bit and focus more on school work, that is ok. Remember, you can always get your reptiles back. Do you have any friends that could watch your reptiles for you for a little while so you can focus on school? I hope everything works out for you. Good luck with everything.

School is a must... I did great in every subject until I hit Trig/Discrete Math... I took honors classes but I was brought up that getting anything below a C was unacceptable and I would have to take the class again... I took Chemistry twice and did better the first time.. had the same teacher, same curriculum, homework, etc. Just not my thing. I graduated with honors in the top 20% of my class. and yes some people are "A" students. But I had no social life if I did poorly.. no going out, no sports, no friends, nothing unless my studies were done... I excelled in all classes and the only 3 to give me grief was Trig/Discrete math, AP Government, and Chemistry... I took the extra time and went to before/after school help classes with the teachers and did extra credit work if possible to pass the classes... You really need to sit down and see if taking unadvanced classes will help you and focus on school before sports and reptiles.. you have your WHOLE life ahead of you for reptiles... I am 26 and we just got into BPs last year... you need an education to go anywhere in life... and alot of places require high school diploma and sometimes college education for employment... set your priorities in life...
