In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I was picture happy....

Show me some skin!

I thought this shot was cool. It’s an angle running down his back. He’s not shedding either. It’s just the lighting.

And to finish it all off the tail…

Cool shots there Cody.... What type of camera are you using.... I use a regular point and shoot Canon A70 with some lenses.....

that second to last picture is real interesting,
looks like one of those "Guess what animal this is" pictures

Thanks Wendy, Gregg and Robert!

Gregg, I’m using a Nikon CoolPix 4500. I didn’t use any lenses. It was just on the macro setting and optical zoom.

LOL. I never thought about that Robert. I should have put that up as a quiz. :D

Thanks Robin! Detail shots are my favorite so I’m always taking them. I think I have more macros than actual full body pics. LOL.

I am also on the bandwagon :) great picture amazing detail and wow, you have to tell me how you got the 4500 to focus using the macro setting I can't seem to make it work.

Thanks Frederick! This is how I take macro pics. I have the camera on auto witch sets it to auto focus. Turn on the macro setting with the little flower. Make sure that you also have the flash on. If it’s not everything comes out blurry. I then zoom as close as I can and be as still as possible and snap away. I’m starting to use a tri-pod because it has no movement. Also lighting is very important. The 4500 is picky about lighting so when it’s nice and bright the pics come out great.

Another thing that helps is having a leo that stays still. When they start running around it becomes very difficult to get clean macros. Hope that helps.

Well, it looks like you've trained yours to say, "Cheeze"! Great shots, Cody!
Thanks Marcia! I wish they were trained… it took me over 100 shots to get those 5 good ones. LOL.

I know...

No kidding, Cody! And people wonder why it takes so long to get photos to update our websites. In the middle of summer when I have 50+ geckos for sale at a time, it takes (literally) 2-3 days to get all the photos (minimum of 5 per gecko!), pick the one that best represents the gecko, crop and watermark it, put it in the page layout, get all the ID and weight info typed in, redo- the crummy shots, upload all the pics too the host, etc... But, you got some real winners!

OK Cody...I need to ship my geckos to you one by one and pay you to take the pics! lol Great pics! :)

LOL. Marcia, I couldn’t even imagine taking pictures of 50 geckos to put up. It takes me a couple days to get less than 10 up…

Okay Paul… watcha got? I’ll take them all. :D
