    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Bad Guy Ian Curtis - Stolen African House Snakes

I haven't heard an official announcement from the KHS.
When I asked for one on their FB page, they said its a private matter between 2 people.
I have no idea who it was within the KHS who posted that.

After the banning and censorship from KHS, we are done with them.
Even if they felt they (KHS) had nothing to do with it, they should have never stopped people from questioning them. Very, very shady.

I feel sorry for the other members that really have nothing to do with this. I know there are good people there.

Ian still needs to man up and fix this.
Stop hiding!

If you are man enough to be VP of such a shady society. I'm sure you'll be man enough to work the booth at the KRE show.

The society was founded on democratic principles. And free speech is the top of the list. That said, there is a way to remove officers detrimental to the society by the membership with out the officers approval. Impeachment IS spelled out in the bylaws. Also, at its worst Ian is a one term VP. Anyone running against him in a general election will win easily with a mere mention of this thread. While I do believe the censorship is being conducted to try to remove the Kentucky Herpetological Society from the matter entirely, it is having the opposite effect.

If the membership truly wants Ian and anyone else out, someone can make a motion from the floor according to Robert's Rules, and force a general membership vote at the next meeting following the motion. My society was always about about the members, not the officers, and ultimately the power resides with them. From the sound of things if I had a vote it would be a vote of "No Confidence" in the current leadership of the Kentucky Herpetological Society. Not just Ian, but the whole lot.

You sir are a good man. I am glad you are bringing this to light and i am SAD to see what is happening to what you created. If they remove this guy from his "seat" Even if i am not a member i would happily share and spread word for any causes the KHS has if they make sure to put pressure on Ian doing the RIGHT thing and giving those animals back.

I wanted to quote this post so that others can read this, members and such to reiterate what can be done to get rid of this guy from the society since he is so intent on not doing what is right!
 
Unfortunately, the society that Ron created does not exist any longer......all the exists now is a clique of closed-minded individuals only interested in furthering the level of brown upon their noses.

Couldn't agree more. The only thing I have to disagree with is your support if Ian is ousted. That's not enough. The KHS needs to be cleansed and the founder's rules and principles restored.
 
Unfortunately I think they require members to have been a member for a certain amount of time before they could try to make changes. I will try to find out
 
It seems like the people in this group don't care about what anyone else thinks except for those who tow the party line in their club. The whole clusterflop DOES sound like an episode of "Honey Boo Boo," or maybe "Squidbillies" but with albino house snakes involved.

I met Ian once. He was giving away free posters at some reptile show at his herp society booth. When I asked for one, he handed me a copy. As I walked away, Ian approached me and demanded a "10 dollar donation." I just kept walking. How is something FREE at first but then part of a 10 DOLLAR DONATION?! Perhaps he needed cash to buy feeders for Sarah's albino house snakes...

So, let's get back to the issue of Ian and Sarah. Sarah really did a good job with documenting this entire situation, and did well here in the court of public opinion, but the only closure or justice that she will receive is by taking this person to small claims court. The judge might question Ian's conflicting text messages, his desire to meet her alone for "mediation" in a dark parking lot (off the charts creep factor) and he will have to tell the truth under oath or face additional charges. I wish her the best as to what she will be able to collect physically or monetarily, and hope that she posts the verdict here for all of us that support her case.
 
I posted the link to this thread on another site that can't be mentioned here. Get the word out people...maybe the KHS will step up and do the honorable thing!

14,000 views and no sign of reason from Ian or the KHS. All for one, I guess.

It's interesting that Ian initially wanted $600 to "give back" all of Sarah's snakes, obviously there was some miscommunication up front, weather real or perceived we will never know due to Sarah not having the initial texts of conversation. This thread has produced overwhelming evidence of one person being right, but we have only heard from one person. As long as Ian stays silent he will remain 100% guilty and drag the KHS through the mud at the same time. The only reason for not presenting a case is not having one, hopefully you get some resolution Sarah but at this point it looks unlikely. Too bad no one in that group has the moral fiber to do the right thing....this hobby never ceases to amaze and too often disappoint me.

After reading the conversations between Sarah and this guy and meeting him initially, his behavior really creeps me out. Why did he want to meet her in a parking lot alone at night or at the herp society with all of his buddies that seem to be protecting him? It's like a Craigslist personal ad gone wrong combined with a modern day "Our Gang Comedy." Simply sorting this out in public on neutral ground (coffee shop?) seems like the best way to go. Now it sounds like this is going to court.

I have met Sarah several times at the reptile show in Clarksville and she seems like someone who really cares about animals and has chosen a career to help them.

I wonder if Ian's boss at the pound knows about all of this?

I recently visited a local pet shop that Ian used to work at (Pet's Palace). I've known one of the workers there for most of my life and hes always been good to me, and all of Ian's former coworkers all shared the same sentiment towards him: not the brightest bulb in the bunch. They all said they thought he was special needs when they first met him and that he always made them think he was up to something shady.

Ian Curtis is dragging the KHS down with his alleged theft of reptiles from Sarah Smith.
Someone better step in very soon or the reputation of the herp society will be forever tarnished.
Don't you still have some "pull" in the society?
