In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

ididit... put your money where your mouth is

"this is the only mis-information you bitch about I will gladly clear up. Since your community college course did not cover it. I have been shooting 18 years. You dont hold a candle to me.... I will type slow so you understand. "

There are people who become experts and researchers and scientists, and use their expertise for humanity, that is where we get our Nobel prize winners.

There are people who become experts and are generous in showing their expertise, and who see the world their own way and are willing to let others see their vision. That is where we get great artists, writers, actors, etc. and Kevin is one of those.

There are people who become experts and use their talent to boost themselves by putting others down. That's where we get sad and wasted lives, because that path can never lead to happiness and fulfillment.

I feel sorry for the guy who said the above quote. He was given the gift of talent, and squandered it.

Aw, now you're going to make me post a portrait, aren't you?! ;) Keep in mind that I don't have anywhere near your experiance! I've only been doing this for about 2 years and am self-taught.

I have a Nikon D80. I shoot just about everything. But mainly my targets are extremely fast moving road racing motorcycles.
I need to set the camera to RAW.
And just learn modes and shutter speeds.
Of course the instruction manual teaches nothing. I'm trying to self teach but it's not going well. I also am not sure what questions to ask.

To stop the action of racing bikes... you need a fast shutter speed. In order to get the correct exposure at a fast shutter speed... you have to change one of two parameters. The ISO setting or the apature.

f/4 on the apature lets in more light than say f/16... the downside is you loose Depth of Field (DOF).

I dont know what ISO your currently shooting at.... but you can try to bump it up to ISO 1000. This will let in ALOT of light... and then you can really increase your shutter speed to stop the motion of the bikes.

IF you shoot RAW format... you will have to have software to process it. I have never used the software that comes from Nikon so I cant tell you how good it is. I use either PhotoShop CS2 or Lightroom

Hey Mr. Big Shot....I've seen your photography. Im not worried. How bout come on here and post some. You better bring better nature photography than you show one your site though.

Now I'd also like to say..... I was impressed by a few shots of his I did see. Alot of his shots (at least whats posted on his site) is farmland type shots and he was in the right place at the right time to catch a majestic sky.

I'll still put my photography up against his anyday!

Man Kevin.. You're Shots are Just.. I don't know what to say... AWESOME! I am so glad you started this thread because I sure am enjoying the photos and the photography lesson :) You really are quite amazing behind that lense :) You're passion for this truly shows through your photos!

I think Kevin has shown how much he truly loves and enjoys not only his reptiles, but his photography as well. The pictures he takes and has taken just shows how much he takes his photography skills seriously.
To me, a true photographer lets his work speak for him, not his own words, or how much money he has made off his pictures.
Kevin is also willing to teach those on how to better their own skills, which just goes to show how much it means to him.

One more thing, keep the photos coming, i absolutely love them!!!:D:D

Kevin, I just have to tell you that I'm in love with that picture of the ladybug on the yellow flower. That would definatly be something I'd pay for to have framed and on my wall. You are truly talented!!!
:D
