my name is brian friend of Cold Blooded Thrillers. Everything that i am about to state i can verify, but i'm not sure how to get it to come up in here for everyone to read. if you know how, please let me know. i didn't want this to be a bad guy thread just yet. it seems to take these guys(bearded pets) forever to answer my e-mails. so, they may have yet to read my e-mails. but, if they would be more curteous to their customers and check more often, then alot of hassle could be avoided anyway. i think that most people that do business over the net check their e-mails at least once a day.
here are the facts, please let me know what your opinions are on this matter. any and all advice is welcome.
i'll keep it simple. if you want me to elaborate, just ask.
i responded to an ad by bearded pets on K.snake.com about 0.3het albino ball pythons for $350 a piece, a 1.0 male het albino for $100.00 and a 0.1 het pieblad for $1200.00. we worked out a deal for me to purchase them all for $1800.00.i sent bearded pets a credit card check for $1800.00 made out to an Elena Egidi. the person who i made the deal with was a Jon. i told them to go ahead and wait until the check clearded before they ship. they said that they would let me know a.s.a.p. so they could get them shipped out. i wrote back on Dec 12, 2004 asking if he had got the check to clear yet or at least received it. he said that he had just got it and was waiting for it to clear. he would ship the snakes the following tuesday for wednesday delivery. we had already made arrangements to have the snakes sent to my wife's work so that she could check the snakes as soon as they arrived.
after a couple of more unanswered e-mails, i finally wrote another e-mail asking bearded pets to please let me know if they were still planning to ship for wednesday delivery. this last e-mail was written on Dec 18, 2004. Bearded pets responded that they were going to wait another week due to weather. i guess that i was supposed to just know that. they weren't even going to let me know that they weren't shipping that day. my wife has to make special arrangements to make sure that she is available to receive these shipments.
on Dec 28, 2004 i still haven't heard from them. i sent an e-mail again stating that they had my money and i wanted my snakes. they wrote back on Dec 30,2004 saying that they were on christmas break and forgot to tell me. they were going to ship the snakes the following tuesday for wednesday. i wrote back and told them that i was getting a little nervous, but i guess i was finally going to get my snakes. i asked them to let me know who the carrier will be that they will use to ship my snakes. i got no response. so far, the only e-mails that i have gotten answers to were the ones that showed that i was getting angry. even though i was angry, i never lost my composure in my e-mails. i just wanted this to be over. now Jan 5, 2005 arrives. i again ask what carrier they are planning to use and if they ended up shipping that day or not. i got no response. later that night i wrote back and said again that Bearded Pets has my money, wht cant i get my snakes? something was really smelling fishy. Bearded Pets writes me back on Jan 6,2005 saying that they are sorry and they will ship on Jan 11, 2005 for delivery on Jan 12, 2005. i asked two more times for them to tell me what carrier they were planning on using. they did not reply. they asked again for my address(this is like the third time that i've told them). they apologized and sited a family emergency as the reason for all of the delays. well, Jan 12, 2005 came and of course no snakes.....i e-mailed them again and said that my wife has already stayed late at work once to receive a package that wasn't even mailed, i did not want her to have to do that again. they responded back and said now that they are shipping on Jan 12, 2005 for delivery on Jan 13, 2005. at least this time they gave a tracking number and a carrier name. i must have asked for the carriers name over 5 times over the course of several e-mails. they never replied until now.
ok..here comes the good stuff.
my wife received the snakes on Jan 13, 2005.FINALLY! then came the hysteric phone calls from her about how the het pied (ended up being a $900.00 snake) was very sick and extrememly thin. the skin sunk on both sides of its back bone. all of the snakes had several bite marks across them. they said that they fed them frozen/thawed prey. the package was completely missing one of my het albino females. the het pied couldnt even raise its head. i wrote bearded pets back and stated my obvious disappointment. i asked for my money back on the het pied and for the missing het albino female. they wrote back that since he(i,m not sure who "he" is) didnt pack the bags, then this is what he'll do. he'll send me a hold back het pied female and the missing het albino female. he just asked me to send the sick female back with her paperwork.
ok...now the paperwork is something to talk about to. it is a cheap certificate stating that the "identifiable" snake on the certificate would produce pied or albino in the second generation. what a bunch of crap. the pictures are so blurry and small(about 1 inch by 1 inch or perhaps smaller) that nobody could identify a snake from those pics. that is just dishonest as heck. they should underline the word identifiable on these certificates because that's the most important word on the page.
alright, back to the sick snake problem. at first i agreed to ship the sick snake back on the day after i received the new ones. well now that's not acceptable to bearded pets. they want me to ship first. this blows my mind. after all of this crap and trying to shortchange me on an order, i am now the one who cant be trusted! give me a break. now they change their e-mail to [email protected] from [email protected]. im not sure if they closed the original or not, but i couldnt get any to go through for awhile. after they said that they wanted me to ship first, i wrote back stating again that i just wanted my money back. i am not going to ship first. once i got my money back, he would get this sick snake back. i am sure it will only be a corpse by the time this gets settled because she is fading fast. i have a vet appointment soon, but im not sure if it will be in time. i talked to my local police department and they said to try to work it out, but they would help if needed. they suggested to ask for a refund again to try to wash everyones hands of this matter. they also told me to file a complaint on the ifcc website if they wouldnt refund my money. i hope that they dont try to just ship the animals to me because my wife wont be at that address for a long time. those snakes will surely perish. im sure that i am missing some stuff, but i have to get to work. any opinions on this matter would be appreciated.
oh, i didnt check the BOI because i didnt discover fauna classified until the evening after i had sent the money. i asked Bearded pets about the bad guy posts and they said that it was just competitors trying to make them look bad. im not 100% sure that some of these snakes sent to me arent wild caught and probably arent het for anything. please help.
